Well, when we lived through the depression, it was sad. We wanted DVD's but my daddy couldn't afford to buy us none. So what we did was to find some old pieces of metal and cut them into little round pieces about the size of a DVD. We wuz careful to save the scraps and give them to my daddy to sell but we hid the DVDs from him. We would pertend we was playin DVDs and we would sing along on th latest rap songs. Later on when my Daddy was old and we was grown-up. we told him what we had done. He laughed and said he knowed all along and even hid and listened to us sing and he was sad that he couldn't afford to buy us no DVDs but was happy we was such inventive childern. We all cried then and was sad, but loved one another, so it was alright.

I found the channel late, but still watch the videos and I'm glad you guys decided to put out videos. Not only is it eye opening to the past and helping us be humble but helpful for those with very little.

This is awesome, I had no idea you had made a DVD or a book of her recipes. It reminds me of the Pasta Grannies YouTube channel that’s compiling the cooking knowledge of older Italian women so that it’s not lost to history.
