I've always used kidney beans I never tried with pinto beans very interesting I've also made it with chicken and my ex-husband's Persian family did not even know it was chicken because I changed the color of it with turmeric and they always tell me mine is better than most Persian women LOL. I'm now teaching my son who isn't version to make it because he loves it so much. And my little girl who is half person makes it exactly like I do and it's always a hit at every dinner party

Thanks for posting the recipe. My ex-husband is Persian and my little girl is half she's 27 now but I have been making Ghormeh sabzi for her and my family for years now… Even that I haven't been with her father for 20 years. Now my oldest son wants me to show him how to make it. That dish is everybody's favorite whenever I take it to a potluck it's one of the first items to be cleaned out lol. we absolutely love it 😊

This was pretty good! I normally make mine on the stove and it takes soooo long for the meat to get tender. It’s exhausting after prepping all the fresh greens. I was definitely looking for a way to make this dish quicker. The bone marrow was also a surprise. I’ve never seen anyone do that. I have to try it!

Merci for this! Found you while searching for Persian Instant Pot recipes — please make more (bonus if vegetarian)! Quick Q — if omitting the meat (gasp!), how many minutes to pressure cook & natural release you think? Mamnoon!

You can use red kidney beans which I like better 🙂 and you should add fried onion as well ( small or med size yellow onion). Also, one cup of beef broth does wonders for this dish!
I just found you and thank you🙏🏻
