This is similar to a lebanese/arab food called mdardara or mjaddara (depends who you’re asking). Leave out the barley and seasonings, serve with crispy onions on top and greek yogurt (Greek yogurt isnt that tart but it’s a good substitute if you don’t have yogurt from Lebanon) on the side
