My recipe for Missippi pot roast is 3 lbs of chuck roast, 1 pkt of onion soup mix, 1 ranch dressing mix, 1 stick butter & pepperoni to taste. I cook it for about 6-7 hrs on low. It is amazing!

By the time the 90’s rolled around I had been married for 20 years and was very familiar with the crockpot! I made a few things but not too much. They were new and no one really knew what it would do! I love your videos and your recipes and family! Keep up the good work! 😍

For the crockpot porridge, put it in a bowl in the crockpot with water round it (like a Bain-marie) and it won’t scorch. Then you get much more out of it. We do it this way now and it almost doubled the yield. You do need a huge slow cooker though!! 🥰🥰

Also with the second one; I have always made it tossing potato chunks into the bottom with the roast. I also add Au Jus (or brown gravy) packet along with the ranch and Italian. It’s okay to have more spices since the potatoes increase the volume in the pot. You can get the peppers pre-sliced (comes in both mild and medium spiciness) and yes I also pour all of the brine into the crockpot. There is no real need for the water. The only thing: Don’t add carrots to this particular roast! The vinegar brine will draw out the carrot flavor and everything will be overpowered carrot flavored.

I have crockpots in basically every size 😅 and yes, they all cook differently.. there’s one I use for an overnight breakfast casserole that I have to cook on “warm” or it’ll burn 🥴😆

I do a chuck roast seared on stove then crock pot then stick of butter on top sprinkle one envelope of brown gravy one envelope ranch or Alioil then the can of Pepperchini’s but I take the stems off cook on low as you did for like 6-8 hours. Shred meat abit and pull some of the fat off if you like. it’s my family favorite served over mashed potatoes.

Key to opening a jar that is really stuck and no one is around to help like when all four of my boys and of course hubby all still lived here they would open but times when no one was around you grab a butter nife or knife put it in the tiny space between the jar and lid and turn a bit you will hear a pop. That is if you didn't already know that. If you did I apologize just an FYI. BTW I subbed to your brothers channel today. I have been binge watching your video's like all day while cooking and cleaning for everyone. God bless lots of love as always.

SOS/Brillo pads will remove the baking dish stains. It's oil that the soap stick to but doesn't wipe away when washed then dries darker and stuck. You can also use baking soda and a dry to damp paper towel.
