Americans do to food what they do to everything else. We take what we like from other cultures, throw in our own, unique twist, then mix and match with stuff we borrowed from everybody else.

Escrow… LOL children this is not to be feared… just means you have a Mortgage and you pay you property taxes and property insurance via your Mortgage payment… Escrow is an account that you put a little of your Mortgage payment into so when these other things come up you have the capital to pay them…

Bro I don't know what the debate is anymore. If you don't like it then don't do it. I LOVE pineapple and bacon pizza. It reminds me of an Al Pastor taco (not literally but that crispy pork flavor and sweet pineapple is my point). It's delicious!

This is simply debating food semantics. “Does pineapple belong on pizza?” It really just depends on how we want to define pizza. If we’re talking about traditional historic pizza, I’ll absolutely defer to the culture which created it. However, in the modern vernacular definition of pizza where we have all these varieties of pizza, pineapple belongs on pizza just as much as the things which create taco, ranchero, cheeseburger, etc. pizzas. My only rule with pineapple on pizza is that it should be fresh. Also, given the 3-topping deal trend, I’m partial to ham, bacon, and pineapple if I’m not getting a full on Hawaiian pizza. I’m willing to compromise and call it a “pizzadaption” or whatever. Just as homo sapien evolved into something more sophisticated and complex than cro magnon and neanderthal, pizza too has reached new levels by becoming something beyond its origins. No longer are such dishes impossible due to the geographic location of ingredients. Pineapple on pizza is the culinary equivalent of the American melting pot. It is the bold and pioneering nature of the American culture which provides the freedom to break free of strict traditions and live as we please, and it pleases me to have my pineapple one of the many places it belongs, on pizza and astounding my taste buds.

American food culture has a root it is to disregard the rules of the other food cultures and make what tastes good even if it weird. Like ranch with spaghetti, or sour cream on sausage, or just fusing two different types of food.

Ok fine, pineapple doesn't belong on my pizza, signed a NYC Italian. The double acidic punch from tomatoes and pineapple leave a bitter, rather than a sweet, taste in my mouth
