I'm a white girl who was babysat by a Korean mama when I was 3 was old to middle school so ynfirts tastes of food were formed by a Korean woman…my mother's best friend. I'm white but I identify food wise as Korean.
Ok so I also was like WTF when I first heard about adding cheese on top of noodles or anything Korean, the huge appeal for me personally of most Asian food is its lack of cheese lol but I must say I tried making my own cheese stuffed tteokbokki and it was amazing š» Ilove making banchan more than anything! Itās made my husband and kids way more adventurous eaters, and in general my favorite variety of ways to make veggies taste good. Itās easier to get them to eat vegetarian here and there too when I cook Korean ā¤ I donāt like any of the frozen stuff, and I do a wide variety of home cooking so it was so worth it to just learn. Most of the techniques arenāt that hard, I really recommend learning some of the basic building blocks of Korean cooking!
I really appreciate this podcast especially as a Korean person! Pleasantly surprised to learn that Josh (and Nicole) had quite a good understanding of Korean food! There are so much more to Korean food than just BBQ and fried chicken, and I am glad you brought in Deuki and Matt to talk about it in depth. It was refreshing! Thanks guys ā¤
Wichita, KS actually has a lot of ethnic food from what you'd expect. We have a decent population of Vietnamese, Korean, and Indian folks, and we're lucky they brought their food with them. Some of my favorites.
Yes. Korean food is the best. Lived there for a year. Nothing can top it. Mexican is close. Mediterranean/Middle Eastern is closer. But Korean is the absolute best. Maybe only Sashimi (as a single Japanese dish) is better. As a whole culture, Korean is phenomenal. Love it. Absolute best. Kimchi, bibimbap, bulgogi, chopchae, all of the different jigaesā¦so so so good.
For me Mediterranean food is the best in the world and it's not even close. But that's the cool thing about food. It's all personal and subjective. Enjoy what you like.
15:40 love you guys but I'm sorry, did he claim Labna, Zaatar and sumac are ashkenazi's jewish cuisine???? Dude people are suffering more than enough for you to claim their food
kpop for sure helped korea
I love all asian food. Has the most flavor and uniqueness in my opinion.
K-dramas are big for me. Korean editing is unlike anything we get here in the west and I love every minute of it.
Korean food is absolutely amazing. Top tier along with authentic Mexican and Indian food. I wish it was more widespread in the US
Looking at your recipes, you look like a delicious chef. Upload to khal, please

Deuki was man-spreading so hard, you can practically see his taint in the wide shot.

Can you please move this podcast to another, dedicated channel? I'm interested in Mythical Kitchen content but not the podcast.

My top 3 cuisines are Korean (biased as a Korean), Mexican (Spanish is good too, but I think Mexican is so much better), and Peruvian.

Please stop taking "betterhelp" sponsorships. They are a scummy company.
I think I spend easily over $500 a year on the Shin Black Ramyun cups. It is my favorite, my go to soup, my ULTIMATE safe food.
