Your soup is definitely interesting. I've never heard of combining pinto beans and blackeyed peas in a soup or any other dish. I say that primarily because blackeyed peas cook faster than pintos and, personally, I prefer to eat one without the other. Yes, I'm picky. How did your gasket get nasty? If you mean it had an odor, that's a common occurrence with those gaskets and generally presents no problems.

I’ve added a boiled egg or two to my homeless bags, good filling protein and cheap. I started doing this just because I had some boiled and was making up a couple of bags digging in fridge for extras

Hi Debra, Try using wine box that have those cardboard separators (12 compartment), you can put soup in tall cups and they will stay in place, I use this on Valentine’s Day when dropping off single flower vases to my lady clients. If I was in your town, I would definitely pop one by to you!

Please stop. Are you complying with the law? Food must be prepared in a kitchen approved and licensed by California dept of environmental health and people handing out stuff to the homeless must have wash stations for cleaning hands on site, also approved by CDOH. You have a dog in your kitchen.

Sorry about the mess…That happened to no gasket…So please remember next time..Also I was wondering when you put the lid on if you would remember to put it on seal. Glad everything turned out good and you had some soup still left to give out.

If ever you do make something with way too much salt, just add more potatoes. Potatoes absorb the salt. If it is a recipe you don't want potatoes in, you can always fish them back out after they absorb the salt.😉💞
