    In Maharashtra we prepare it & called Waran fal. Only the thing we put little jaggery & tamarind to reduce its strong sweet & sour taste, In tadkha we put mustard first in warm oil , let it crack while keeping gas on simmer after that we put other things.

You can add finely chopped onions too for additional taste. In my home we make chawal tooo… To each his own.. Will definitely try your style of Dal Dhokali. Thankyou
