Just bought the melthy air fryer for my instant pot, love this recipe. Please please please post some more recipes where you use the instant pot and the air fryer. Or even the air fryer alone. You are the go to person and I learned how to use my instant pot from. Thank you so much

I would pick the Max. Lots of simple functionality. My cats run for it when I release the steam. Great explanatory video. Thanks for keeping us all informed.

Just curious. Would the chicken need the specified IP cooking time? Would it not continue to cook once placed under the CrispLid for 8+ minutes? I don't like dry chicken.

Question – in dec ‘18 you did a video of the Max. In the subsequent videos you use your duo. What gives? Did you not like the max. I’m trying to make. Decision about what IP to purchase and finding it very confusing when you show a new model but continue to use the old.
    TIA

Thank you!! You took the trepidation out of cooking a whole chicken in the IP and the Mealthy for crisping it!

Question: do you ever turn the chicken over and then crisp its other side? Thank you!

Yes, yes, yes. I wanted to see this done with the removal of the cooking liquid before using the CrispLid. It looks delicious. That's the kind of trivet I have so I may try it with that. I would normally use a silicone basket/sling for a bird, but not sure I want to blast it with very high heat.

As I’m only cooking for one or two, and a whole 5 lb chicken is too much , I decided to try a cornish hen in the Crisp lid. It fit perfectl;y in the basket. Gave the chicken a dry rub and into the crisp lid basket ( on top of tall trivet) breast dowb for 4 minutes at 400f, Then turn it over, breast up and an additional 8 minutes at 400f. While it was cooking I put the giblets in the bottom of the instant pot and used the resulting liquid from cooking the chicken for stock later. Some of the best chicken I’ve ever eaten.

I’m so disappointed they don’t make the Mealthy for the mini. I am alone and the 6 qt is too big for me. I have no oven, so until Mealthy takes pity on us little guys, I’m destined to eat non crisp food!

I love how real this video is, how you show that the chicken has to come out then in to remove the liquid. The chicken doesn't look photo perfect, but very real. I'm a new subber. Thank you for this video.

I think I'll try this in my Ninja Foodi. With the IP, Foodi and now my IP Vortex I am cooking and keeping my kitchen cool in sunny Arizona 🤗🌞 I saw a Tovolo baster on Amazon that is supposed to be dripless. Maybe that would work to get the liquid out of the pot after cooking. Then you wouldn't have to wrestle the cooked chicken out to drain the liquid before crisping.

@ Indigo Nili.. after a chicken is cooked 30 min in a pressure cooker and then put in a convection oven for 8 minutes at 475F, I would expect the chicken to be far less moist and certainly that has been my experience in the Foodi but that is only 400F ? ?
