    When I trim my spare ribs for the smoker, I smoke the trimmings for about thirty minutes…then freeze them. I use the smoked trimmings in my beans…awesome.

    A Recipe For;
    Our Mama Edena's CHILI SOUP!
    We love "this guy's" Cowboy Kent Rollins, pinto bean recipe!
    Add the following;
    2 cups of this pinto bean recipe, (drained.)
    1 large can of Campbell's tomato juice.
    2 cans of diced, or stewed tomatoes, with jalapenos and onions.
    Instead of "Armadillo", please use the following "ungredients", as they are a bit less greasy;
    1 1/2 lb browned and drained hamburger.
    1 lb browned Braum's Hot Sausage. (Use the Breakfast Sausage, Not the links.)
    1/2 cup, or more, sliced yellow onion.
    1/16 or less, cup of diced jalapenos.
    2 beef bouillon cubes, (Soften the cubes in the microwave with 3 T water for one minute.)
    1 T fresh bacon grease.
    1 T unsalted butter.
    2 packages of hot chili seasoning, (or 3 or 4 Large palmfuls of Mccormick's Dry Chil Seasoning, from the bottle.) Cracked black pepper. Use at least one (1) level Tablespoon.
    Use one (1) dash of table salt.
    Add 6 ounces of cold water.
    (Season chili to your taste, while cooking and tasting.)
    Mix all together, bring to a boil, stirring, and then reduce heat to a medium low heat stage on the stove top, and cover your soup pot with a lid, or tin foil.
    Continue stirring occasionally, for about 15 to 20 minutes.
    Reduce heat.
    Lightly simmer, tasting as you go.
    Then, serve your chili over a large slice of cornbread, using Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix, and adding to the wet mix the following Ingredients; Shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, cooked bacon bits, or browned hot sausage
    Bake as directed on the package.
    This chili soup recipe can be used, after you thicken it with a bit of cornstarch and water, as a chili hot dog topping, or for a chili bacon cheeseburger topping, or on the side, with queso.
    You can also enjoy this chili soup over crushed restaurant style tortilla chips, instead of corn bread, or saltine crackers.
    Enjoy!

    Beans, water, ham and just the right amount of salt is all I want in the pot. The jalapeños and the other stuff he used including the spices would cause a lot of indigestion to make me suffer. Simple is the best always.
