    Hi Diya
I too cooked in claypot for the first time but the dish has some oil like smell or some pungent like smell. Is it normal?
Also I soaked in water for 3 days but there is not much sunlight so I kept in the shade and then oiled it and used it after oil was absorbed

Beautiful video. I've been cooking in clay pots for a while now and just love how flavourful the food becomes.
I love your channel and how easygoing and simple you make everything seem. Have begun to incorporate much more veg into my family's diet thanks to your amazing recipes.
P.S. The addition of chaat masala in your dishes sold me. LOL <3

I started using clay few months back, just wondering any online shop to purchase them here in Australia?
    I'm located in Melbourne.

Hey Dia ..nice and informative video. I have my 2 pennies worth about using clay pots. I have tried using and clay pots and also stone wear but found it required lot of maintenance and very impractical for today's hectic days. It is also not energy efficient as it takes a lot of time to cook that means more use of gas or electricity putting pressure on our already depleting natural resources. They are not dishwasher friendly. Initially when u start cooking, the food will have a strange mud taste which will reduce in time. My personal feeling is that going back to our roots is good, but there is no need to regress. Iron and steel are good options for cookware. They cook fast and retain nutrients in the food cooked. My suggestion for anyone who wants to buy is that, they should try 1, see how it suits them and then buy more.

Hey Diya I recently found out that shikakai or soap nuts crushed and soaked in water can be used as liquid to wash utensils… It is fragrance free organic and hell yes removes the grime and oil from the utensils… Do try it out!!!
    Btw amazing video!!
