When I watched this video, I was also looking for an outdoor hot plate (amazon, google search etc etc). I saw the one you were using and thought I would ask if you had a brand that you like/recommend. I would be using it for an outdoor craft projects. Anyway, thought you may have a perspective on that product and/or you can point me to one of your videos that may have reviewed a hot plate/outdoor cooking element. Thanks in advance…..OH and that bean dish does sound delicious.

It's too late now Crystal, but rice should be soaked overnight to cut cooking time. If you have an ole spaghetti sauce jar it's perfect to soak the rice in. That way you don't have to worry about knocking it over, or insects. I add some herbs or seasoning. Thas when i ate rice. Black rice has the most nutritional value. I cut wayyyy back, cause i was rice all the time. I guess cause it was always around and last forever. Good to know you're up on black rice. I found it bout 10yrs ago at Sevanander in Atlanta. I was doing the vegan thing. Been adding
raw vegan dishes and dropped the rice.

Hi sis, I was thought to cook rice 2 cups of water to one cup rice ratio. you soutee rice with a bit of oil first for a minute than u add water. let it boil only is close when u can see rice you lower to medium low, do not uncover and leave for 20 minutes. Try it this way you may like it.
