All i did was put a chuck roast out on the grill to char, then put it in foil and finish cooking OMG was just a simple roast beef sandwich> Hoagie bun, onions, Jalapeno powder, and cream Horseradish with some chopped roast beef and with little broth on the buns, YUM> i kept the meat separate from the veg, so i can make a stew or have just roast beef too> It went so fast! next day GONE>> i must have pig out

I made a sandwich similar to this one time. I thought I was making a Philly steak though. Lol either way still turned out to be a great sandwich. Looks yum. Have a great dayโค๏ธ

I don't get it. Why use a faux roux? Why not just make a real roux? I mean, there's a reason that we have roux versus raw flour dumped into a dish. Wouldn't roux make your sandwich taste better? Hope you read this comment and can explain.

Thank you for using real french bread and dressing the boy with just mayo, iceberg, tomatoes and pickles, instead of adding, like, arugula or avocados or mushrooms.

I'm not convinced that the final bake in the oven is a good idea. I've never had a boy with wilted lettuce and cannot imagine it being good eats.

I had a Roast Beef Po-Boy in New Orleans, which in addition to mayonnaise, was dressed with both yellow and Creole mustard. This combination added a nice kick to the rich, savory beefiness of this sandwich.

My mom always used Kitchen Bouquet in her home made gravy, back in the 1970's. My mom cooked everything from scratch back then. Of course that was before microwaves, instant "anything", before Hamburger Helper, before instant mashed potatoes, She would cook a full dinner for our family of 4, usually with a simple dessert, (jello, pudding, cake) and that was after working an 8 hour day!! I don't think we appreciated her enough!!

1st time I had a roast beef poor boy was when I was stationed a Fort Polk la. we got weekend passes, and went to New Orleans. Having grown up in Chicago and being 100% Italian, I was used to Chicago Italian beef in natural or 'brown' gravy with sweet peppers and gardinera. I totally freaked out when I got the New Orleans version with mayo pickles lettuce and tomato, but it wasn't bad at all. love your channel.
