Nielsen Massey must love you, you might want to rethink adding an ethanol based extract to a corn based vodka. That is an infusion you are making not pure vanilla extract. You also state that the consensus is that you can not duplicate grocery store vanilla at home, yes you can, better and a whole lot cheaper.

ive never added store bought vanilla to any of my homemade batches and yes, it takes time and forethought, but its not exactly hard to shove some vanilla beans split into a jar of vodka and stick it in a cupboard somewhere, forgetting it for six months or so while only shaking it every week or so. My vanilla is so good and fragrant and delicious that i give it for gifts at Christmas and have people beg for more. I dont buy that commercial is better. Just my opinion, no shade on Claire.

I’ve made homemade vanilla once and it was a lengthy process and it was delicious! I used the entire bottle and never refilled it. I’ve been wanting to do it again! At the time, I wasn’t too sure of which vanilla beans to buy so does anyone have any recommendations on the best vanilla beans to buy and where? I believe last time I ordered from Amazon.

Claire!! I am so glad you did this video because I have a question about homemade vanilla. I have a huge mason jar full of vanilla that I made. As you know it took a lot of time and money 😅 A few weeks ago we went though a house fire. By some miracle, my jar of vanilla survived despite losing almost everything else. I cleaned off the jar but I haven’t opened it yet. Is it still safe to use?

It's a miracle that I am alive today. I encountered HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV1 / 2) for four (4) years, six (6) months and twelve (12) days with my calculations, before I met the great Dr abumere. I am from los angeles California, united state of America and I was affected with herpes virus. Herpes is a viral infection caused by the Herpes simplex virus, marked by painful, watery blisters in the skin or mucous membrane or on the genitals. This was what I suffered for four years. I have visited CVS Pharmacy in CA for treatment but no improvement. I met Dr abumere online while I was searching for a herpes cure. I read a testimony about his work. I give a try that now becomes a testimony in my life. I contacted Dr abumere WhatsApp +2349021975055 or E-mail: doctorabumere6@gmail.com

Hi Claire, not sure if I missed this 🙈 but do you ever need to add more vanilla beans to your homemade extract? Or do we simply just add vodka and store bought extract occasionally over time…?

Keep the great content coming 🖤 we will forever stan our Dessert queen!

Would it be recommended to toss the pods with a spirit into a high powered blender? Surely there would be separation and paste that forms, but I wonder about that being a good start to the process for infusing the spirit.

I didn't understand the comment about whether you can make an extraction as intense as store bought vanilla. We live in the same universe as the manufacturers, we should be able to do it or they shouldn't be able to do it.

I made the blood orange olive oil cake from dessert person (the beauty on the front cover) and it turned out to be amazing. The oranges were caramelized. The cake was moist and spongy with a deep olive oil and orange flavor while not being overpowering. It was very aromatic and flavorful. 10/10 recommend both the recipe and the book, really hope Claire makes a video on it too:)

This wasn't mentioned in the video, but if you decide to go the natural route and not add store bought vanilla extract to your mix, the wait time isn't two years like stated in the video. You can easily start using your extract at 6 months. However, if you let it sit for 12 months you'll get the best flavor from it. Anything after that 12 month period just makes it even more potent and amazing. Aside from vodka, you can also use Rum and Spiced Rum. 🙂
