Enjoyed this meal many times over many years with family. They called it Cream chipped beef. It was delicious
It's been 52 years since I've had SOS. That was at NAS Memphis. I'll have to give it a try. So far it is a good year for the Vols.
My dad was a WWII vet and he loved SS on a shingle, I ned to try ot. Thanks, once again.
Hey Flat Top King! I have a Pit Boss Lift Off Griddle. Do you have any recommendations on silicone equipment? Mostly scraper tools for griddle cleaning!! Thanks in advance!
Dang that looks good. Nice job! Just added the ingredients to my grocery list.
The only good chipped beef is the one not made.
Lets get Grandma on the Griddle , this stuff is soooo much fun !!!!
Looks good and it’s about as simple as a cook can get.👍🏻
Yep – brings back memories — Love that gravy for sure!
Was my Dad’s favorite meal! SOS. The chipped beef we got was already diced up. This really brings back some fond memories of growing up. My dad was a WW ll Army Veteran. Who told me they had this meal regularly in the service. Thanks Neal, this one is special! Cheers brother!
👍🏽❤
Mom used to fix milk gravy on light bread. Still do that from time to time here. Plain and simple but great memories.
Where are the eggs????
😊 Definitely a family favorite growing up, there were 8 of us in total so we had SOS with hamburger instead. Times was rough lol Great video I’m glad to see old favorites being taught by you guys 😁
We all grew up eating this something that I had almost forgotten but it really is hard to beat
Interesting, have never seen chipped beef in Nova Scotia. My mother used to mix canned corn beef with mashed potatoes and onions as a “budget stretcher”. Pretty good if you could sneak enough butter.
That is still 2 days worth of sodium
I’ve been waiting for an SOS recipe
One of my favorite things ever but I haven't thought about it for years….so making that for dinner tomorrow!!!
I am like some of the others, reminds me when I was young. Now I know what goes in it.
Thank you for the content always looking forward to new videos. I'm definitely making this for my bday Saturday.
Nice southern recipe for me too try!
I don’t recall the flavor of this from childhood, but I sure remember my mom calling it SOS spelled out and being shocked, as she still rarely curses😆
After you freeze the bread and toasted it loses about 50% of his carbs from what I’ve seen
Hunting season is coming up. How about something with deer and turkey on the griddle and/or the smoker? Maybe backstrap wrapped in bacon, wild turkey burgers, smoked turkey…. 53k subscribers, you're killing it.
Looks awesome! Pure comfort food. When I was a kid, and things were short. Eggs were cheap, meat was not always… My mom used to make this with sliced hard boiled eggs, and corn. Sometimes we had breakfast sausage in it, which was over the top good.
Oh I’ll be fixing that
I've heard about it. I've read about it. This is the first time I've ever seen it. It looks gooood.
Never had SOS. It's been a forgotten item on my list of things to try. This makes me want to finally try it!
I love SOS, haven’t made it in a long time
I learned something new today, ive never heard of chipped beef before. With that being said, the She-it on a shingle i grew up on was made with ground beef. And when i saw SOS it brought me back to when i was a young laddy 😉👌😋. Awesome quick and easy cook my Brotha ✊🏼🧐!! I gotta look for chipped beef now, not sure ive ever seen it here in Cali. Cheers Y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
where'd the eggs go lol
This vid warmed my heart. The soulfulness you showed was awesome.
Family is everything.
Don't choke. 🤣🤣
For sure making this I’ll post the final product on Facebook
Definitely looks like my mothers recipe from when I was little, only I didn’t rip the bread up lol. Thanks for sharing Neil. Cheers 🍻
Grew up on this stuff for well over 60+ years thru the hard times. It was always cheap an easy. But i`ve never seen anyone put hot sauce on it. I`ll have to try that.
My mom used to make a version of this using canned tuna , always one of my favorites . 👍
Awesome love you guys
Looks delicious.
That looks so good. I never thought about using a gravy packet 🤦🏼♀️
Brings back memories as a a kid. My Mom would make it when we needed a quick easy dinner. I never knew how she made it. Thanks!
What happened to the eggs 🥚
My daughter in law made the best biscuit and gravy I ever had, her biscuits were in a triangle with each side 6inches in length and she used sausage bacon ground beef and ground pork with 2 sunny side up eggs
My mother used to make that all the time. So good. Nice job again kids!! 😂
