Why is no one talking about how she touched all that meat and didn’t wash her hands before touching the outside of the bags, her shirt, the counter, etc 🙃

Girl I bought a freezer and literally I put raw 1lb ground beef in my Ikea baggies like you .. then I started buying ground beef and cooked and crumbled and put in freezer for soup and Chilli. All you have to do is pull it out.. so quick . I’m a member at Sams Club and Costco .. but seriously if you go to Super Target you can find the big fresh packages of Boneless Skinless chicken breasts or thighs . They mark it 5.00 off if it’s about to expire. It’s the bomb 15 lbs of chicken for 10.00 . I used to put raw meat now I cook it up with different seasonings and bag it for several different meals. I used to be just like you about leftovers .. now I’m totally different . Lol it’s a challenge how many meals can i make from like leftover Chipolte Bowl . So easy to get like 3 meals from that one bowl . Try the Ikea bags .. I don’t buy any others . Also I put date on meat and how many pounds in bag . Good luck

I am 19 and I just got married in October of 2021. You should definitely invest in a vacuum sealer, food saver thing. It keeps meats and stuff that you freeze last longer in the freezer. Food will freezer burn in ziplock bags, if there is any air in the bag. $100 is barely enough for a food budget, especially these days with how high everything is. $150 is a good budget though. You can still buy the things that aren’t on sale, just not all the time because it adds up. I have recently been writing down what we spend so at the end of the week or the month, we can see where our extra spending is. Don’t worry about everyone’s negativity. You’re young, you’ve made mistakes, you don’t know everything. We have all been there. No one knows everything. You do you girl. There are so many of us who love y’all so much🥰🥰

Y’all should invest in a food saver vacuum sealer! It keeps your freezer food fresh for so much longer! We use it a ton! We also just got some pork butts on sale at HEB! My husband smokes them and shred them into pulled pork, adds some BBQ sauce and then we vacuum seal them in bags portioned out for our family and thaw them as we need them! It makes so much food and it’s perfect for nights you don’t want to put effort into cooking! We have done stuffed baked potatoes, pulled pork sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos, all kinds of things!! 😊

Use some of that pork for kahlua pork and cabbage over rice. (Pork salt and a bit of liquid smoke) So easy in the crock pot! Orrrr crockpot carnitas for tacos or burritos/burrito bowls… smoke some and with the leftovers make loaded bowls over baked or mashed potato or Mac and cheese kinda like kfc famous bowls but use the pork instead of the fried chicken. Corn, shredded cheese bbq. I’m telling u girl. I got ideas

Great job!! I try really hard to repurpose my leftovers into new things bc my husband doesn’t like leftovers either. I’ve discovered that creamy soups like broccoli cheddar and spinach artichoke are delicious reheated and served over baked potato. If i make chili I’ll make chili and cornbread or Frito boats one night and chili dogs or chili on baked potatoes like a loaded potato, or use it in the morning in an omelette.. leftover rice is great for fried rice. Fry up some bacon and throw the rice in to reheat w some soy sauce, frozen veggie and scrambled egg… If i do ground taco meat one night I’ll save the leftovers and make taco pizza. Or taco salads. I’m full of ideas girl. Miss frugal franny over here. I’m so proud of you!

I love getting my meat all at once. I need to start looking at deals at the store as well. When I freeze my meat even if I can tell what it is looking at it I still write what it is on the bag just incase.

I was the same way when I first got married! It took me many months to learn how to grocery shop well and where to go and what I buy! I finally found meals I like to make and make similar things most of the time with some new things sometimes. Since I noticed I spent a lot on new recipes since it takes so many ingredients.

Love Kroger deals! I freeze my meat like that to, we usually go to Sam’s and stock up bc they have good amounts for our large family. I suggest when freezing meat, even in freezer bags to take glad wrap and wrap the meat in thag and then put in the freeZer bag, I’ve never had a “freezer burn” lol. When I first started I didn’t wrap it as well and it did ruin the taste a few times! As long as you cook it soon tho it should be fine but I would definitely start wrapping it, make a huge difference! Praying for Gabe and you and hope he gets better soon.
