RECIPE:

1.5 Cups Apple Cider Vinegar
1/4 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Beer
3 Tbsp Dark Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flake
1.5 Tbsp Kosher Salt
1/2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 Tsp Paprika

Place all ingredients in a small pot, stir and mix well, bring to a boil to cook the alcohol off, remove from heat and allow to cool some.
Pour over pulled pork and enjoy! Make 2.5 cups of sauce, enough for a 8 pound pork shoulder.

I add a little tomato sauce and some cayenne pepper with a couple of shots of liquid smoke! Made some BBQ last week and a new batch of sauce… Used a little habanero chilies soaked in the vinegar to spice it up a bit

never commented b4 on any video/recipe I've watched but this sauce is SO good, i had to. Being from south Texas, we don't have much smoked pork so i have to do my own. always wanted to try a vinegar sauce and this recipe is it. I'm done looking. The right amount of sweet, lite heat and the slight tang of the ACV. Absolute perfection!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm from Eastern North Carolina and I've cooked whole hog barbecue since I was a teenager. I have to say, that's a really interesting sauce. Interesting enough for me to give it a try some time…and that's saying something (my family's had the same sauce recipe since the early 1900s).

Minus the water and the beer, your flavors and measurements are spot on for a darn good Eastern Carolina sauce. Actually reminds me of one a friend of mine makes for chickens.

    Great job!

Carolina style is my favorite. I used to get so many people ask where is the ketchup in the BBQ sauce when I served it in a restaurant that I was the Chef of. I had to explain what Carolina style BBQ was.
