never commented b4 on any video/recipe I've watched but this sauce is SO good, i had to. Being from south Texas, we don't have much smoked pork so i have to do my own. always wanted to try a vinegar sauce and this recipe is it. I'm done looking. The right amount of sweet, lite heat and the slight tang of the ACV. Absolute perfection!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
I think I might try this when I smoke a shoulder this weekend, but maybe add Cheerwine instead of beer.
super good
how long do you boil it for?
Awesome video!
looks delicious, I love vinegar sauces, will try!
Can you put this up in jars and can you double or triple the recipe? I should have worn a drool bib to watch this one. That looks fabulous!!! Thank you so much!!
I'm from Eastern North Carolina and I've cooked whole hog barbecue since I was a teenager. I have to say, that's a really interesting sauce. Interesting enough for me to give it a try some time…and that's saying something (my family's had the same sauce recipe since the early 1900s).
Minus the water and the beer, your flavors and measurements are spot on for a darn good Eastern Carolina sauce. Actually reminds me of one a friend of mine makes for chickens.
Great job!
Howdy! Back to tell you that this recipe was AWESOME!! Will be my go to Carolina sauce. Thank you for sharing your talents! Patty (proud subscriber to Pigskin Barbeque!)
Thanks for this recipe. I have a pork butt cooking as we speak and am going to make this now! Will let you know how it turns out!! Patty
Red Pepper Flakes RULE!!!!!!! Looks great John, we will give this a try 🙂 A "BIG" thumbs up 🙂 Thank you 🙂 ROCK ON!!!!!!!

i just went down the street to the grocery store and picked up some Carolina style BBQ sauce. Thankfully I live in Raleigh where this kind of BBQ is abundant
Great sauce recipe! I'll have to try this out next time I make pulled pork sandwiches.
Carolina style is my favorite. I used to get so many people ask where is the ketchup in the BBQ sauce when I served it in a restaurant that I was the Chef of. I had to explain what Carolina style BBQ was.
Great sauce. Making this now.
Awesome sauce recipe!
Keep on cooking all that great BBQ.
that's my kind of barbecue, your recipe came out great my friend that's what I'm talking about. you should also use this recipe whenever you're cooking ribs on the grill whatever you do do not add the BBQ sauce just basing with your recipe.
