That iodine supplementation should help reduce or even prevent the hair loss. Right now I'm taking 10 drops a day of the 2% Lugol's iodine. five drops in the morning in my water with a little seasalt then five more drops in the afternoon the same way. Iodine deficiency can cause hair loss and if you're not getting iodized salt you're not getting much unless you have seafood in your diet often. Eggs do contain some but nowhere near enough

I ALWAYS look forward to your videos! ☺️ I was just thinking- do you think that eating a zero carb diet or OMAD might be stressing the body out and causing the hair loss (maybe adrenal fatigue or hormonal imbalance of some sort?)…just a thought. While doing research on the carnivore diet, I have found people that have lost their period etc. I guess that’s one thing that keeps me from going fully carnivore- just wondering your feelings on that 🙂. Hope you guys have a great week! Any update on your puppy? Prayers!!!

I'm excited I'm only one pound away from reaching my final weight loss goal before I stop looking at the scale all together. After that I focus on building muscle weight to replace the rest of my fat. From 350 to 200 lb. Final goal is 199.

I look forward to all of your videos. You continue to inspire me. Im sure I’m not alone. You are so real and put yourself out there. I don’t know you in real life but I wish that I did.
Also I used your code to order my first package from LMNT. 😊
Other than the first week I have been gaining slowly rather than losing. Reading all the things and trying to slowly cut out anything that’s artificially sweetened except stevia in the raw for my coffee and heavy cream. I’m not there yet. No more sugar free snacks to cure that sweet tooth. There is no such thing as a cure unless you quit it all. Also trying to eat more than I think I should based on Kelly Hogan’s advice and stop focusing on the scale. Hard stuff!! I “look” better and overall I feel better but I would be lying if I didn’t say the weight loss impacts me but I have hashimotos and have been hypothyroid for 25 yrs so I am sure it will be harder. I would be ecstatic if I was just seeing minor reductions in that darn number. I’ve tried not getting on the scale but I keep thinking I feel lighter let me just check. That ought to teach me to stay off.
Getting my electrolytes in and pushing forward. 🙌🏼

Tip re coffee flavouring. I make a ginger syrup by grating and boiling organic Ginger then straining to leave a ginger liquid. Add that to coffee and tea and mineral water. I also freeze it into ice cubes because it's hot where I live. Ginger al so great for your gut

Apropos binge eating. I used to stress/depress binge eat sweet stuff a lot. Then feel guilty and down on myself after the fact. I still do once in a while, but stick to binging a variety of meat snacks. Bacon bits, pork rinds, summer sausages, beef sticks etc…. Gets me through the rough patches and no harm done. Maybe just gotta go to the bathroom three times that week instead of my regular two times. (btw not constipated, just not a lot of waste to ram through)

Excellent Q&A, Amanda and Scott! Great answers to great questions!

The trick with the flavored coffees is similar to what it is with the other foods and drinks… Checking the labels. Keeping it zero carbs or as low carbs as possible (I personally am always 10grams or under as a Ketovore.) I had been using the French vanilla coffee which iirc is less than 3grams, limiting myself to 1 cup per day. Then I switched to adding my own vanilla extract to my cup, along with butter, heavy cream, cinnamon and a 1/2 tsp of stevia. (Though I have been working to get rid of the stevia, but can't quite do so yet.) Basically check your labels and if it's zero or very low carb, depending on which you're following and you should be good.

I think once things settle down, I think people will find their hair thicker in the end. I did not have much weight to lose, so I didn't have a big shock to my body, so almost immediately my hair got thicker.

I am listening to a woman named Darlene on YouTube. She is stressed almost 24 7. She talks about accomplishing just one small step a day. She's a perfectionist and feels if she can't do it all at once it's no good and keeps her from doing anything. So pick one thing you can accomplish on keto or carnivore and be proud of yourself!

'Non scale victories'? Have I got that right? I will write them down…great idea! True, losing any unhealthy body fat is a victory too…maybe you haven't crossed the finish line yet…or used up as much as you would like so far…but giving yourself a star for every pound is important as a reminder that you're winning on that front! In the long run you will reach your goal…if you just keep running. You cannot fail!! Sometimes it does entail psychological endurance and exercising discipline! Ah, hard work! Then I imagine, it's about maintainance…and that is a life long lifestyle commitment no doubt!! ⭐ Sometimes we just feel uncomfortable emotions…it's natural to want to releive them but enduring them is possible too…uncomfortable but possible. Thankyou for all your help and insight you two! You're a great team. Dogs and all! 🐕

Also a lot of us are losing hair after having the virus. I lost probably 25% of my hair for the 6 months after my bout with the C. It's extremely common almost like some sort of autoimmune affect. I just wanted to say that so people know that it also could be that. It's very common and usually starts about 2 months after the illness and typically lasts about 4 months. ( My hairdresser is hearing it A LOT for the last few years)
