I was falling asleep and your camera crapping out scared me awake 😔
Anyone else think that Kenji was shirtless at the beginning?
Why do you cook it differently than your recipe ?
This just popped up in my suggested, so naturally I watched it for the 3rd or 4th time. I just realized, I think a "botched by Babish" is in order due to the camera mistake 😉 Make it happen Kenji! <3
First time ever using cinnamon in carnitas and was not a fan. Very over powering. So over powering that it didnt smell like carnitas anymore
That looks so good omg
Giving this one ago but I picked up lard to go with my pork butt. Does anyone know how much I should add for about 4 lbs of pork?
This was the Start of the Villain Origin story of Kenji’s oven
"Really tickles your…fancy" your PICKLE Kenji! It was right there!
I've made this four or five times since first viewing the video. It's become a staple lazy weekend dish. Thanks!
Re: your daughter & The Claw…I was teaching my daughter about knives & cutting etc. She watched me and told me, " Dad you're moving your hand like spider !!" Good stuff. She nailed it!. She hates spiders but her perspective was exceptionally clear, concise & appreciated. I utilize it in all basic culinary skills demos and instruction.
Thank you much Sir.
Hmm, deep fried carnitas.
I’ve made this with the same spices as tortierre. So good!
Ok Kenji, made these tonight and WOW. Absolute fire 🔥
Why isn't POV cooking more of a thing. This was way more exciting. Been using your recipes for a long while at Serious Eats, but never thought to find you on YouTube. Thanks!
Your oven has exactly the same "preheated" signal mine does, and it's not the same oven.
My Dude! I made these carnitas! with the pickled onions! they were a hit! I Thanks for the recipe!
Doubt anyone will see this, BUT… I'd love to know how you'd alter this technique to apply it to chicken or beef.
Luv that dog!! Lucky Dog!!
Made this with double the amount of meat so I doubled the recipe but it didn’t turn out as expected. Reminded me more of a Thanksgiving flavor than the carnitas I’ve had around town. Guess I’ll try less next time.
Since you are still adding oil any reason to not just melt up a half block of lard instead?
