I I have a question. If you are pouring boiling water in a room temperature jar, wouldnā€™t you risk thermal shock to the jar? I noticed that when you raw packed the chicken in another video that you heated the jars and kept them warm in the canner. Iā€™m just a bit confused and do not want a disaster with my jars as they are hard to find these days. Thank you for any additional information on this subject.

Good Morning from rural South Ga. I am brand new to this and I am looking to get my first autoclave what would you recommend for a green horn? Also for the meat and like beef stew, what kind of shelf life does it have? Thank You in advance.

Are you even serious rn? 15 minutes of watching you stuff meat in jars and standing next to a pressure cooker but we don't get to see the finished product? Lol whatever, idk what ppl think when they make videos. Do they even try and put themselves in the audiences shoes? You do t think perhaps maybe we want to see the color and how much juice it made perhaps even open one after it cools to see texture etc. Anyway this was a waste of time, it takes 5 seconds to tell ppl to put meat in a jar and pressure can it not 15 minutes, I'm sure most ppl came here to see the canned meat

Can anyone give advice on reusing discs? Do you throw them out after one use or can they be reused? I've heard people say throw them out after 1 use but is it really necessary or do are youtubers just covering their back and being sure no one comes back at them with "you made me sick"?

I was always curious as to why people can outside instead of inside, is it better somehow? What is the difference really? My mom never did any of her canning outside, actually until I started watching videos on YouTube following Other homesteaders, I never saw so many outside setups lol

My mom was always fearful then things and she started using them later on in life because actually itā€™s way more safer than a water bath and my understanding is in Europe they only use the water bath still and thatā€™s OK with low acid food but itā€™s still risky with botulism and stuff!!!!

Just watched this vid. I was hoping you would go from start to finish to see how it looked. What is the shelf life? Also, once the meat is cooked for a meal does it start off more tender?

    * Do you have to keep these canned meat in a dark and dry place?
    * how long does it normally last before it goes bad?
    * is there a way to know that the food is about to go bad from appearance of it from outside?

If worried about canning. Get two. freezers keep both going. So if alarm goes. Off you have a back up freezer. I tell you why. Canning is expensive time you buy jars lids. Jar rings. A good quality canner don't buy. Cheap canner. And pay for gas cooker. Safer to buy vaccuum bag roll. And vaccuumer. And spare freezer. Respect to a canning meat it is good. canned.
