Hi Emmy i have a great idear for hardtimes meal! And this has insprired me tonight as im eating this myself!! Its called a crisps butty! In other words in USA It would most likely be called potato chip sandwich! And my personal best crisp/potato chip to use one the sandwich is cheese and onion or smokey bacon! I usally have walkers crisps here in the UK But im sure you have crisps called Lay's Which are just as nice! So my recipe for this is 2 slices of white bread spread with butter or margarine! ( GOTTA HAVE BUTTER OR MARG OTHERWISE TOO DRY) Then choose your flavour crisp e.g. Roast Chicken then smush the bag to make the crisps smaller, Then put on your slice of bread then add the other piece if bread then slice in half then enjoy! Please try this if you can its delicous! And doesnt cost much to make in a budget!! Also of course EAT THE DUCKY MOSS ☺

I have always been taught to cook any whole bird upside down. That way the fat and juices melt down into the white meat then a quick flip and broil to crisp the skin on top. My grandmother also tended to put some bacon fat inside the bird to help keep the breasts moist.

Once, when my sister and I were little, my mom took us camping with a friend. It was like below 30 degrees most nights and all we had were sleeping bags on the floor. So mama heated up rocks in the camp fire and we put them in towels at the foot of the bags. The next morning we saw that they had burned through the towels and singed the bags. Lol we could have potentially caught fire.

Hearing her be surprised the chicken wasn’t so spicy with the amount of seasoning she applied really made me stop and think about the culinary differences between cultures and how different ethnic groups approach spices and seasoning in general.

It’s really interesting to think about how some people could grow up with a culinary comfort zone consisting only of salt and pepper, while others have no limits as to how much flavor they experience.
I grew up in a house where the chicken she made is still just barely under seasoned, although we did try not to overdo the salt. Coming from that, I think as a kid I had a lot more knowledge than most about flavor profiles, lol, but also it helped me learn the line between flavorful and excessive, and I think most people get too scared to overdo it before they can learn that.

Emmy, I saw in the beginning of your video that you were making banana bread . I have a very old recipe ( 100 years old probably much older) if you’re interested. My grandma would be so thrilled if you were to use her grandmothers recipe.

    Edit
I have no concept of time.
I think the recipe was my great great great grandmothers.

Omfg are you serious, people around the world have been cooking with hot stones for thousands of year. Hawaiian have been passing that knowledge down from generation to generation. I really cant believe that you didnt simply look up the history of cooking with hot rock. Omfg you are pointless, quit YouTube and go back to your day job. Or get better at research your content ahead of time. Btw Korean Hot Stone Soup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting science experiment. Definitely NOT practical in in way or form.
Why on earth would you want to waste 7 hours cooking a chicken, when in less time than it took you to heat the rocks, you could have cooked a fantastic, moist and flavorful chicken with crispy not slimy skin (like this one had) on the original fire?

The cayenne pepper in the seasoning is so light that it becomes airborne when you shake the bottle vigorously . The best way to use Tony's is to pour some into a small bowl and sprinkle it on with your hands or a spoon. That will keep it from becoming the powered equivalent of pepper spray.
