    Hello . This is the most economical way to bake bead. The bread machine has a lower energy consumption 613 watts, not even a kilo watt. The mini oven uses 1.4 kw which is twice as much and the main oven 5kw when it’s at 240°c and fan to bake breads

    I dont know why, but seems YT unsubbed me. I had to search for you again. I did just find your channel a couple of months ago. I am in south central USA. I do make my own bread. I have a Cuisinart BUT I prefer mixing in KitchenAid then baking in oven in my Pullman pan. Delish!

    Fab looking loaves! Bread is always something we run out of before the next fortnightly shop is due, so it would solve a problem for us. Back in 2006 I bought a Panasonic bread maker, supposedly top of the range as it was a 'considered purchase' I had saved for. It never made good bread and watching the electricity dial going round for three hours made me afraid to use it. It seems that the modern machines are better. Very tempted to try again, but it's yet another machine to try and make space for in my tiny kitchen!😄

    I am going to have to try your gluten free bread recipe! I have Celiac and have to follow a gluten free diet. Gluten free breads are around $5 or $6 in my area, and often pretty awful. I have an Elite Gourmet bread machine with a gluten free setting. I am also vegan and make as much as possible from scratch. Eggs are terribly expensive here; I substitute ground flax seeds or chia seeds with water or 1/4 cup of aquafaba for each egg called for. In baked goods I will use 1/4 cup of homemade applesauce for each egg.

    Hello Mike and Jane, I do make my own bread but not for cost reasons. Because of the diet I must follow I make almost everything myself as I can control the ingredients. I do it by hand, used to have a bread machine but wore it out and just never replaced it.

    The Zojirushi Bread machine also makes Jam. I do prefer to make my jam traditional way and water bath can in my newly purchased steam canner that only uses 2 1/2 quarts of water..love it so simple and light also to move around.

    What a great subject! We do stuff like that to save .money too. Every week we roast a chicken. We use everything including the bones, which go in with the skin to make a flavourful broth in my 50 year old Lagostina pressure cooker…which is still working like a charm! We use the broth for soups and to tasty-up the dog' s chow. We then take the gristle and bits of meat off the bones to give the dog an extra treat. Finally, we compost the bones. It all has become a weekly ritual that saves us from buying costly cartons of chicken broth. Mission accomplished!

    Thank you for sharing, we are a gluten free home as well and bread is usually a big bummer. I also started making GF bread in my machine and it's a thousand times better than the store. We dry out the ends and make GF bread crumbs to bread meat with because you know bread crumbs are crazy expensive. Enjoy your new machine, you can't beat a bread machine. Loved this video.

    I'm curious why you don't buy larger bags of flour to save additional money. Also it's worth mentioning that gluten, for anyone other than those with Celiac disease or gluten-related disorders, can have nutritional value. It's what gives wheat, barley and rye their protein content.

    I buy bread machines at thrift stores, generally a "new one" every 2-3 years, we use it often so eventually it dies 🤣 I've made bread (several kinds from white, to wheat, to herb, to cinnamon raisin) pizza dough (regular and wheat) cinnamon roll dough (which doubles as doughnut dough), and english muffin dough infact you have remained me of how wonderful it is and I think I'll be making English muffins this weekend

    Love my lidl breadmaker. It makes wonderful pizza dough and cakes. I make my own yogurt, my everyday bread, our treats like cakes and biscuits. Always trying to make most of the things my family eats. The last thing I bought was the lidl ricemaker and I love it. 400w and you can cooke rice, pasta, potatoes and even beans… love it and so inexpensive!

    I have Panasonic breadmaker and use it to make bread, rolls, pizza dough, brioche, panettone etc., but I mainly use the dough setting and then shape the dough, let it rise again and bake it in the oven as we don't like the hole in the middle from the paddle. I also make sourdough bread since I managed to get a good starter going last year. If you are able to buy bigger packet of yeast instead of sachets then you can store it in the fridge Petra (Tony's wife)

    I make my own hummus which saves me loads of money. A 350g tub is anywhere between $3.50 and $5.00 NZ, a can of chickpeas is $1.70 and the other ingredients means I can make it for $2.00 NZ and get about 500g of hummus. I also make different flavours each time depending on what I have in the fridge or cupboard that needs using up.

    I've had the Oster Expressbake for 5 years and purchase my flour in bulk at Costco. Using my blender I make my own ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, dips and plant milks. I've also made my own deoderant for 5 years and it costs only pennies to make from only 4 ingredients purchased in bulk. (YES, it absolutely works wonderful… it held up to 12 hours shifts when I was working at a Domino's Pizza that didn't have air conditioning with 92% humidity). Jane, I'm so glad to have found your channel via Under The Median suggestion. You always inspire me. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!

    I have a Black and Decker breadmaker and I use the dough setting so I can make two loaves in my own bread pans and bake it in my oven.
    I find if I bake it in the breadmaker,I end up with a hole from the paddle in the bottom of my loaf. I love chokecherry jelly, homemade of course, on my toast.

    I had a bread machine but sold it when I got a kitchenaid standing mixer with a dough hook. Now the mixer does the kneading since I have rheumatoid arthritis and can't do any kneading by hand. Both loaves of bread looked perfect. Great job.

    So Glad I watched this, I too loathe commercial GF bread, it is just not worth bothering with. However yr recipe looked like a decent granary loaf and it held together, I shall try it !! It's a small thing, but it is so nice to have a sandwich from time to time

    I used to have a bread maker but it conked out and I could not fix it. I would like another one because bread is zooming way up. I have given up on nice bread because it costs too much and the junk bread from the supermarket is only a short-term solution. Thank you for the video!

    Hi Jane! I have a Cuisanart Bread Machine and it is so much easier to use it compared to what I did when all my kids were home! Several years ago my favorite cereal went to $5 a box and I went home and scoured the internet and found a simple yet delicious recipe for granola—am still making it! Same thing happened with my favorite yogurt—doubled in price! So I returned to the internet and found a Crock Pot yogurt that I absolutely love. That recipe is on Simple Food, Simple Life. I enjoy your channel so very much! Thank you for all your hard work in making these videos! ❤
