Rachel…at the risk of sounding a bit nosy, where in the heck are you girl ?!? In the three years or so that I have watched your videos, I haven't seen this kitchen! The last I heard you, you were going back to Texas and were packing. Now here you are in this different kitchen. It's very nice, very pretty, but I don't recognize!! Just call me nosy, if you want!!

Rachel thank you for your channel my mother and I enjoy watching your videos. If I were to go to a tortilleria to get the masa could you please tell me how I would ask for it in Spanish? To make sure that I am getting the masa that I can prepare myself like adding the lard and broth to my liking. Thanks.

I love your videos Rachel! You have such a nice smile. You are a great teacher.
I usually order my chiles from Amazon or another online store. Although I do find chiles at my local Mexican market, sometimes they are so old, they come apart while I am cleaning them.

You are so good – I appreciate you giving a detailed instructions, you're very clean with your cooking and very confident and knowledgeable with your recipe. I wish I live in your neighbor and would love to buy some tamales from you and actually right now I'm salivating. I can't still find a good place to buy either beef or chicken tamales here in west LA where I live. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipe and may the Good Lord bless you and your family always yum yum yum!

Hi I’m also from the Rio Grande Valley and grew up making tamales at Christmas time with my mother and sisters. My mother did mix her masa by hand and I’ve never new you had to test your masa in a glass of water and make sure it floats to the top. Our tamales were so delicious cause mother made them with love too!

Thank you so much, dear Rachel!!! Last December my dear neighbor who now is 3000 miles away, made me a tamale making video! Was fun but I need to watch you now to get all the details. My friend left out how to make the sauce and she confided to me in secret that she uses canned enchilada sauce! Horror, and so funny! Love you!!! But wait! Whose kitchen is this? 🙂

So glad I found you Rachel. I love the way you teach! My mom passed away but now I can renew my efforts to cook like she did through you. Where can I get a steamer pot like yours for tamales ?

My favorite part of the meals are at the end when Rachel does the taste test. She's so animated and you can really tell she loves them and you will too. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us and the generations after us that will see these videos.

I've never made my own masa but this year I'm going to make it myself. You made it look effortless. For the ladies who have never made tamales this is the video to watch. She's a great instructor and leaves no rock unturned. There's only one question for you but I want to send it private.

I love the way you take the few minutes to give your corn husks extra care by rinsing them well, you’re going to effort to make these, why not do that to be sure they’re super clean!
