Of all the appliances I've seen demonstrated on an RV, a propane oven is the one I would not want. I don't know why they take so much time to come to temp, but it takes forever. But don't put your food in until it is up to temperature. I don't do it even in my home oven. Baking takes the right temp and the right time for the oven you have.

Obviously from my screen name, I LOVE COOKING VIDEOS!!! Especially when suited for RV living since we RV full time. I was wondering how the crescents would do in the foodi. Nice experiment!

First off, I LOVE y'all's videos and the comment that follows isn't a reflection on you. It just makes reference to a phrase you used that kind of drives home a point I think that's worth making.

At 3:05 — "If I'm hungry I don't really feel like waiting an hour to eat." THAT, right there, is why so many people opt for unhealthy fast food and one of the reasons for why we've become as unhealthy a population here in the states as we have. I'm not judging; I'm the same way. But I don't think you'll hear anybody arguing homemade food created at home, patiently and correctly, is "NOT" healthier than this pre-prepared frozen crap that we buy back in the aisles where the TV dinners are sold. We are what we eat. If we opt for less fresh ingredients that've had all of the nutrients blasted out of them during the process of preparing them for a "long-term shelf life" – we get food that is less nutritious, which doesn't fully feed our bodies and soul. I use the microwave a lot but I DO believe that every time I do that I'm getting less healthy food (than I would have if I'd prepared a meal in the oven or on the stove top for instance). I don't have a Foodi or instapot or air fryer but I've seen nothing on Youtube, nor read anything online, that gives me reason to criticize the product. They're definitely, imo, healthier than cooking with a microwave.

Truth be told far too many of us have adopted these lifestyles where we're always wanting everything "right now" instead of slowing down and… (1) Enjoying life, (2) preparing our bodies to enjoy a meal slowly and process the nutrients "effectively" and (3) taking our time TO prepare a meal with more nutritious, fresher ingredients.

Having said that I do know how different it is to live out of a sticks and bricks where you have a large pantry and ready access (usually) to fresher ingredients and living full time or long-term in an RV where storage is a real problem and the last thing you want to do is spend 60-90 minutes cooped up inside in a 3-1/2 or 4 foot wide by 5 foot long (if you're lucky) space we call our "kitchen." Though to be fair when RV'ing I did most of my prep AND cooking outside. Of course, I'm an old fart and we didn't have as many f*cking rules and regulations regarding open camp fires and the such around our rigs even 25 years ago which brings me to my next point. I enjoy cooking with cast iron and given the opportunity probably would have used one of my large dutch ovens to bake those rolls using coals from the fire or even charcoal briquettes, but then a lot of that has to do with my liking to be OUTSIDE even when I'm cooking. LOL. The problem is that so many of the state or RV parks frown upon or just won't allow you to make a fire for coals and some even get pissy about charcoal. You are correct in that RV style propane ovens don't do a great job of cooking. Even with a pizza stone in the bottom I always had issues with ours in the rig.

Anyway (again), LOVE your videos and this comment in no way was intended as criticism of y'all. Thanks for sharing the video because it drives home the point about propane ovens and demonstrates a good alternative for rolls (the Foodi).

    Safe travels!

Good info! Enjoyed the comparison. We have used a convection microwave, an air fryer, and have a propane oven (in our 5th wheel).

The trick with the convection oven and the propane oven is to preheat them completely to full temp, then add the food. With the air fryer it's instant. From a solar/battery usage perspective, the airfryer is a win-win.

I am starting on downsizing right now. Going through my kitchen is the hardest because I really use everything. But I do think I want a Foodi and do away with the instapot. I really think it would be a good investment. I just want to keep items I will use everyday or at least once a week.
I'm so sorry you get such negative comments. I don't think people realize how much work you have to put into making any video. This is a part of RV life and I appreciate your thoughts

Sorry, I love you but subscribed to your channel to watch travel adventures, not cooking videos. I glad it makes you happy but wonder if your gaining or losing subscribers or if your viewing time has dropped. I haven't watch one completely through.
