Leigh, do you like the apple pie filling from the dollar tree? I didn't care for it. It didn't have any spice or flavor and the apples were rock hard. It might taste better in this type of recipe but not as the star of the show, like in the apple crisp I made. It was a couple of years ago, maybe it was just a bad batch. I love pears, craisins, and dump cakes. Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁🍂

I am a cook. Works better if you use warm butter and mix it with the cake mix. Crumble on the top. The bake.
