    Asparagus soup! It's a favorite here. I used to have asparagus in the garden but the plants faded after 20 some years. I'll be planting more in the new garden. Using the bases for stock is a great idea. If they are nice fat spears, I peel off the outer hard skin then cook the insides just like the tops. They cook up just as tender. If it's skinny asparagus it's not worth the effort but now I know to use them for stock. Thanks!
