John I made this todsy. I did the caramel and used a thermometer and reached 125 after boiling but there was some separation, the oil from the butter .. the caramel was way too soft… what did I do wrong?
Yummmm!!!! My question is where do you buy your brown parchment paper? Lol. I can only find the white rolls and they are such a pain to use because they always need to be cut to size and it just curls up😋
Who would use less chocolate???? I used to make this when my children were small. They are now in their 30s……. I’m inspired to make it for the grandchildren 😊
That's not a spatula. That's a scraper. A spatula is what is used to spread frosting. Just a friendly FYI.

We we make chocolate caramel slice in Australia we DON’T Add an egg yolk to the shortbread.
It’s just
1 cup plain flour, sifted
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut
125g Unsalted Butter, melted
Can honey be used instead of corn syrup …or maple syrup?

I love these cookies, but I don't understand your measurements. You say 2 cups of flour, but you only have measurements for 1 cup . 2 cups is 448g

1) How do you eyeball vanilla teaspoons?
2) Would this recipe work w/ a 8×8 pan?
When patting the shortbread into the pan, use another 9×9 pan and push down on it.
