Hi…Venus fly traps…firstly..ditch the dirt and plant it straight into sphagnum moss make it swamp like and sit in a window…no drainage in the pot. Goodluck . For snowy winter if you have a warm light spot that never hits freezing.

Happy day to you both! My question has nothing to do with clothing ! I am going to plant garlic and where can you find the tool you use to plant the garlic? Sorry if I didn’t ask the question right.

Great podcast. The older I get the less I want to spend on clothes. We don’t really go anywhere anymore so there really isn’t a reason to keep buying clothes that I’ll never wear! It makes it som much easier to decide on what to wear when you don’t have a ton of clothes to choose from. 😂

Bahaha – Carolyn, we think alike. (Murder mystery on the homestead)

Our local Ag agent told us years ago, if we have a deceased livestock animal (as long as it wasn’t euthanized with chemicals) to bury it under our compost pile and it will breakdown. It never dawned on me that we could do the same with the unused parts from harvesting hunted animals either – I hated just tossing them back into the woods. Thank you for connecting the dots!

You MUST be talking about American Blossom sheets! They’re wonderful!!! We got two sets so we could always have fresh, clean sheets on our bed, even on wash day. COMPLETELY worth the investment for these sheets that we will pass down to our kids!

Thanks Homesteading family! I haven’t delved much into canning yet as my current hang up is I have a glass stove top and I’ve been told my water bath canner isn’t safe on it. Any suggestions on what I can purchase to can on? (Keeping current glass stove) —thank you!

Excellent information, I have many kids too, so I wonder how do you store your clothes? I've been using vacuum seal bags, which are not very practital at the end for me. Do you use plastic box? What kind seals better?
    Thanks 😊

I am from the part of the country where the venus fly traps grow wild. They need acidic soil. They grow in hot swamps close to the coast that are mainly populated by other carnivorous plants and pine trees. When they are sold in the store they just get put in potting soil. If you want them to survive try upping the acidity of their soil, add sand, keep their pot damp at all times – think swamp. They like ants and spiders but they only eat that because the soil is lacking nutrients so they may not eat bugs if you have too many nutrients in the soil. I hope that helps.
