I came back to say that I’m glad you changed the name. With inflation, it will be less defeatist if we focus on what we can do to keep ourselves fed at lower cost, rather than looking at what we lack. I unsubscribed from a fellow Canadian who chose to go for views with empty shelves following the disastrous weather in BC. She wasn’t even in the impacted regions. Being in Abbotsford, the worst hit part of BC, I saw my community come together like nothing I’ve ever seen. And, nobody was over-shopping and there were no long lineups due to gas rationing. We focused on the positive and what we CAN do for one another.

I think 2022 will be an adventure in working our skills and in sharing what works. I love the positive vibe of this channel. Keep up the great work. This is so important.

Good idea to use your points to secure your Christmas ham. After looking at the flyers yesterday, there didn't seem to be many good buys on turkeys and hams this week. You did well to get so many items towards your Christmas chowder and baking.

Lots of 'luxury' items there. It's wonderful you are including them.
For the stuffed peppers, I think it is fine to include 'questionable' as free. Many people get things given to them, or they eat at another house for a meal during a week, or order take out.
Naan bread is also wonderful as a base for pizza. We do 400F for 12 minutes or so (with sauce and toppings)
Store incentives are wonderful. Every so often Airmiles will have an offer of spend 95 airmiles and get xx airmiles (offers change). So if you get airmiles, you might want to save them for those things. Many times Lawton's will have "buy $35 in Compliments brand, and get xx airmiles"
    Great video as always.

i enjoy your variety and always look forward to your video drops. When the new year hits, I am going to make a master list of all my staple items , as I buy them, and then I can create a kitchen planner of sorts, where I can make lists, record all my pantry purchases as well as be able to keep some recipes for new things I want to keep cooking or family favorites I want to pass along to my kids.

I would the stuffed pepper mixture. Today my kids wanted fried chicken so I pulled out some chicken breasts that were a little freezer burnt but I battered it and the kids loved it and it got rid of something that needed to be used up I am really trying to use up things that are not at the peak of freshness and trying to salvage it tomorrow I will be making chicken fried rice with 2 more chicken breasts that need to be used up I am really enjoying these video's and am amazed with what you can do on such a small budget I will be trying to lower my food budget down next month to $650 for 5 teens/adults that's going to be a tight budget but luckily I am very well stocked right now I will just have to get creative.

I think you should redeem your points for a splurge shop. Maybe Christmas treats and foods or some decadent foods/drinks for treats. Maybe that would leave room in your budget for more regular fruits and veggies? If that might interest you. As a fellow Canadian, I applaud your efforts, I think our groceries are more expensive than many other locals.

I only buy bacon about once a year. I live alone so i just open the pack, split it up into about 4 sandwich bags and then put those into a ziploc & freeze. Makes it handy for me. Everyone should save and reuse bacon grease! It delicious for frying up brussel sprouts and other vegetables lol. It's hard to make meals (every meal) for just one person, so I don't. I just freeze portions for later meals when I don't want to cook, because that happens sometimes. You're doing great. 🤗

Your formula for groceries is so smart. You really have impacted my process way down here in Texas! I have used a grocery list and shopped my own pantry for longer than I can remember, but I never really took advantage of coupons or other resources to lower my cost. You have led me to think a bit differently about my groceries and to be a little more creative. Thanks for the videos! I enjoy watching them very much.

I think you are doing great job as for the pepper mix I would use it would be wasteful and the whole point is use what you have.My husband and I are retired with a limited budget and our children help with things once in awhile by bring leftovers if they can’t use them my one daughter asked what I wanted for my birthday I said a veggie box once a month if they weren’t to much so she did that for us it small but enough for a week or so till we can get more
