I would worry sick about the chickens, and like you want them safe. Aren’t roasted chicken thighs about the easiest, tastiest main course? We like ours cooked longer, very well done, while most people seem to like them cooked less. Your house looks great!

Simple fix for your free range chickens. Fence your yard in with chicken proof fencing. The chickens can still be free range everywhere but your yard. Chickens win and so do you with a clean sidewalk/porch. 🙂

I am sure Neisha would laugh at my french press. I press it about 4-5 times a day. I make rocket fuel with it. I have those organic coffee beans which are really coffee seeds. They're organic Mexican coffee and it's the dark roast I usually do about 3-4 scoops in my french press and then let the hot water soak up those grinds and then I do that till about noon. Then I stop.

I agree about protecting the chickens. Bring the pasture to them. Especially greens are so good for them. I used to grow kale for my birds, along with herbs. Otherwise they will destroy plants flowers etc.

We have 9 chickens 2 ended up roosters… I let them free range a couple evenings a week so they can do chicken things… they aren't laying yet (22 weeks)… maybe not till spring unfortunately, but when they do generally they lay earlier in the day and I can be out keeping an eye on them.. I love watching em do chicken things but we live in the woods in the PNW… Owls and other birds of prey and God Only Know what animals pass thru… (little bears I'm not worried about but Cats…. would make my chickens dinner
