Places to start looking for scholarships are your local clubs such as men/women's clubs, rotary clubs, your electric or gas companies, your home/car insurance companies. Most scholarships open up in August of senior year and have deadlines. Good luck.

I'm in New York & the AZ price you gave was what private colleges here cost when I was applying in 2005! I don't want to know what it would cost now! I ended up at a City school that's 4 year but costs the same per year as community college

So we have 4 years before our eldest should head to college but you made me check prices. We are in Ireland and the price for a year in Northern Arizona is roughly what we would be looking at for 4 years, well looking at 2021 prices.

My boys did 2 years at our community college. $2300 per semester. Got all their core classes out of the way. Then they went to 4 year schools that accepted all their credits. My oldest just graduated and my youngest heads to his junior year in August. Both boys will not have any student loan debt by doing it this way!

Yes, college is expensive! Go in state or to a WUE school that gives lower tuition to out of state residents. My kiddo is about to be a senior at a UC school, but I have 10 year old twins and I shudder at the prospect of tuition in 8 years! 😬. Good luck!

My mom and dad graduated from Northern Arizona University! And I was born in Flagstaff. Such a pretty city! My son will be a junior at the University of Missouri next year and so far has had zero loans! I work for MU so I get a 50% discount for him. He did not live in the dorm and instead decided to rent a place with friend and that has been a HUGE savings. Almost $12,000 to live on campus for a year! He knew what he wanted to major in, Economics with an emphasis in Finance. My daughter who will also be a senior in high school next year has NO CLUE what she wants to do, maybe something in the skin care field has decided she’s taking a gap year. Maybe she will go to college, she may pick a trade like school. Good luck with the decision!

My baby girl just finished her first year of college. She stayed local, chose to move out the second semester, but she LOVES it! Haley, don’t be scared to stay local. It’s always good to have family around! All you need is a degree, from anywhere. I love seeing you two hang out. Y’all remind me of me and my beautiful daughter. ♥️

So, I read the Throne of Glass series based on your recommendation. It was amazing. I just started A Court of Thorns and Roses series, I am on book 2. It is SPECTACULAR so far, so freaking good.

I read the ACOTAR series, and just can't bring myself to read A Court of Silver Flame because I REALLY didn't like Nesta, so of course I don't feel like reading a whole book about her! I am reading Crescent City though, I finished the first one in a day and a half, whoops

Both of my boys did in state schools. My youngest picked a local college and saved costs living at home instead of living in the dorm. Will your daughter be taking any college credit courses in her senior year? That helped a ton. Look into scholarships offered in your community. Both of my boys did apply for financial aid. There is a lot of financial aid that goes unclaimed at college. My oldest had a job where he was placed. He had decided on a college that was not close to home, so he had to live in the dorms the freshman year. Added expense of his food(had to have the discussion food money sent to him was not to spent on a 3-day music festival). Also added expense of housing when he stayed at the school over summer to keep working his job(needed to find summer housing). My youngest worked part-time when he attended the local college. My oldest wanted to go to school for biomedical engineering. That lasted a month when he decided to switch to forestry. He is now a forester and a wild land firefighter. My youngest just loved math. Wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with it. He attended a job shadow event before high school graduation with an insurance agency in the actuary department. That is what he wanted to do. He is now an actuary in an insurance agency. I believe Haley likes math and science. There are many possibilities with that. Nothing wrong with going into college with a major not declared. Also could find something to pursue at a technical college.

I found out AFTER I discarded a bunch of 'dream' schools that most University's will offer the resident rate if you come in with a B average or higher. You just have to talk with a recruiter.

If she's into computers Neumont University in SLC is where my son got his bachelor's degree in 3 years for computer science and technology management. He lived at home so that saved him a whole lot. If you have family in salt lake you can use the Utah resident discount of 65 k. His first job out of school he was making $65,000 and his quickly advancing.

I'm reading The Fountains of silence by Ruta Sepetys. I have no clue what to read next, long list of to be read..I make a mood decision after I finish the one I'm on. I enjoy historical fiction…and science fiction/fantasy so I might read star trek.. or the rest of THHGTTG🤷‍♀️..I left if with the restaurant at the end of the universe.. I might start over who knows I'm indecisive.

Excited to see someone reading Circe! I love that book. I feel like you might like more "active" action in your novels than that, judging by your active personality, but I really enjoyed it and hope you do, too.
