Thank you, for Ihe book recommendations Going to order through local library. The Great Sophie and Vanishing Heart. Thankfully, our libraries have been open to online order and curbside pick up. I am listening to my first audible, through my.library, Barack Obama,s book, "A Promised Land.'
Our 3rd lockdown in Ontario, Canada will open Stage 1 on Friday. They are hoping to do it in 3 stages making sure the Covid numbers stay down each stage before opening.the next stage. School is online and will stay that way until end of June with hopes it will open fully come September. Sorry to hear your in 4th lockdown. Hopefully, it will be short lived.

Hi Deirdre! Loved your book reviews and tv show suggestions! I have not read a Georgette Heyer in a long time. I read the Toll-Gate but I think I should try the Grand Sophy! I do think those book covers need a redo! Hope you are having a lot of Hygge coziness along with those Sandham episodes!

    Greetings Deidre from Maryland, USA,
It’s summertime here and it’s about 9:00am and I just turned on your Vlog to get motivated. I have a ham bone in the freezer from a leftover ham. So tomorrow maybe I make your soup recipe. I do enjoy your Videos because you and I are in the same stage of life. Our children are grown and we are retired. It’s lovely not to go to work, yet I do miss some social interaction with people. But one must go on and find beauty, serenity and joy however we can. Thank you for sharing

Good to see you Deidre! Shame we’ve ended up back in lockdown after doing so well and enjoying freedom for months…..hopefully for not much longer. I’m confident the Vic. authorities are doing a good job to get us out of lockdown ASAP. At least our lovely cool weather suits cosy days at home cooking, reading, drawing etc.. Like you I enjoy so many movies/series from around the globe on SBS on demand. I’d love to be going skiing on the long weekend, but it is what it is. Stay warm and safe.😀💚Deb

Hi Deirdre! Lovely to see you again and thanks for a lovely video. Thinking of you all in lockdown and hoping the numbers continue to go down. Two today I think? The weather is turning a bit arctic here today in the Blue Mountains so definitely soup weather. How funny, I cooked pea and ham soup yesterday, granola today and we’re having Chicken Kiev for dinner tonight 😊. And I’m cooking pumpkin soup for my daughter on the weekend. My book reading has been quite poor lately but on the plus side, I’ve picked up my knitting needles again! Didn’t touch my knitting last winter during our COVID lockdown but I’ve got the bug again this year. Take care and fingers crossed that your lockdown finishes very soon!

Hi Deidre, just curious what Australia is doing about unemployment. I assume the rate is high as it is in so many places. Does the government send unemployment checks and is it substantial enough to sustain the people that unfortunately have lost their jobs? During the lockdown, I started reading and rereading some of Agatha Christie’s books. Such classics! I couldn’t read my usual psychological thrillers. They became too much for my own psyche. Take care, stay safe. Always great to see your videos. Thanks!

How are immunizations going there? I thought by now you’d all have had your 2 doses or on the way to be having them, 2nd doses are in roll out now in Canada, in British Columbia we are going into restaurants again. Man your country is a lot more tolerant of rules and regulations, if they tried doing that QR code sign in here, or in the US, there’d be heavy push back I’m sure, let’s just calm down and get through this is my feelings. Take care down there ♥️🇨🇦

Your soup looks delicious. A bit too warm here for soup, but will definitely be trying it come this fall. Agree with choosing an audiobook based on the narrator’s voice.

I'm sorry you're under another lockdown. Glad you're making the best of it. Our numbers here in Indiana, USA, have finally been coming down so I've been able to get out and go to some stores in the past month. Your making the ham & pea soup has inspired me to locate my mom's recipe for bean soup. I've never made it but have been craving it recently. My sweet mom has been gone now for almost 11 years; wish I would have thought to watch her make that soup when I had the chance. Enjoy your books and stay safe!
