Just got to the bit whare you poor the batter in the tins and am confident that cake is going to be perfect. I have been using a very similar recipe for 30 years. Delicious every time. 🎂
Ina is pronounced like eye-na
please make the tom cruise coconut cake!! lovely video as always
Chocolate cake is the best and second up lemon cake or me
But the egg yolk in the frosting is raw, isn't that a bit unsafe?
I'm not keen on frosting, because usually it's a really sweet. But a good frosting, I love lol
I'm watching and thinking this is her profession she's got this 😂❤
What kind of oven is it? gas, gas fan, electric or electric fan? You know if it is a fan oven as there will be a circular pattern on the back wall with holes in. I say this as if you don't hear or feel the blow of the fan, it could have stopped working, which could blow the heating element.
Our current oven is 10 year old and I have had to replace the heating element 2/3 times now as i do a lot of traditional cooking and preserving.
Don't forget that fan ovens need to be about 15 – 20 degrees lower than conventional ovens, depending on the energy source. If they don't state fan, reduce the temps if you have a fan oven as it will burn and uncooked in the middle!
You need a merch apron!
Looking forward to seeing the new kitchen as that one is def for shorter people. I am 5'6 and those cupboards look too low and small.
I was 32 weeks pregnant when we moved into a house in need of love and reno. After, electric, gas and water was sorted on the first week, I was tiling the new kitchen i designed and we built when i was 39 weeks pregnant.
P.s. Go for decaf coffee in the cake, especially if sharing with kids, pregnant people or the elderly. As a once 6 cups a day coffee drinker, it makes a difference. It is just there for the flavour, just like ethanol needs to be cooked out of alcohol. The Beatty's reference instant coffee, which is also weaker than fresh coffee. It also has less allergy problems to it compared to freshly roasted beans.
P.P.S. Food network is owned by WB, a US company. US measurements are different to UK Imperial measurements and old UK cups, oz and lbs. To quote a phrase, "i would just take the measurements, with a pinch of salt!" I like how they use Beatty's and not Betty's. Just like how they use the word "cheddar" in the US, when it is only exclusive in, guess what, a place called Cheddar in the UK. #noshame
My auntie taught me that buttercream recipe 40 years ago. We didn't put coffee in it. It was lovely and chocolatey.
Chocolate cakes using buttermilk and hot water are so luscious. With that buttercream, extra.
Refrigerated cakes taste amazing after 24 hours. Fresh cake is delicious too, but something happens during those first 24 hours that makes it sublime.
Excellent video. Beautiful cake.
Hey! So I've been making this for a decade. The Hershey's Cocoa Frosting recipe (with any cocoa you have) is actually better on the cake than her frosting. You'll need to add a bit more milk than the recipe calls for.
I like your tata
Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you! Can’t wait to see the little one!🥰
The chocolate cake looks so delicious and you did a fantastic job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This looks so delicious! I was actually disappointed at the end that I couldn't have a slice.🤣
Instead of using the coffee in the frosting just swap it for cocoa ❤
When you see how many times Ina tests a recipe, if she says sieve then you sieve. I love her.
Glid absolutely is a word, keep using it!! It's more common in some dialects than others where, because it's a less commonly-used word, the past tense version was forgotten and replaced. So you could say that 'glid' is actually the more correct word. (I remember hearing this discussed recently, I want to say it was on countdown but I can't be sure! 😊)
Anyone else impressed Grackle has re-aged herself back to her adult self, lost her Burnley accent now that she's finished ranting about two ice creams for 9 quid?
The conversations you have with yourself are so hilarious and so me. One minute you're talking about cake and the next you're talking about the perfect name for a sausage dog 😭😭😂✨
i love hearing you pronounce Ina's name! but i have to help you out. its pronounced eye-nah not eee-nah 🙂
Great video, the cake looked so good. You should try the coconut cake. My mum used to make it for me on my birthdays. I’m not the biggest coconut fan either but the cake is amazing
Is this Ina’s, Beaty’s Chocolate Cake??!
🙂
Noooooo. I prefer warm or room temperature cake!
can you do the coconut cake in a video soon please!! i loved this video and would love to hear your opinion on that cake
The white sweatshirt survived. I would have chocolate on it somehow somewhere even while wearing an apron.
I’m sorry who is Eena
A $100 chocolate cake, how bad can that be?
Might be fun to do other Ina G recipes and write her about the ingredients uk vs usa
Love to see you make a rainbow cake for June! 🏳️🌈 Or any pride food, any excuse to celebrate, like you said!
Oh no…I have only just started watching and am horrified to see you are using Tesco's own flour. Some years ago I couldn't understand why my cakes were not working out properly and then realised it was because I was using a bag of a supermarket own label (I can remember which one, but not knocking them). I am lucky enough to live near a flour mill and can buy the flour direct and it makes wonderful cakes. I really really can tell the difference and yes, I am the sort of person who not only doesn't sieve her flour into the bowl, but I never weight my ingredients either. Using proper flour, I am known for my cake making.
BTW, love your videos.
It’s “I” nah. I tried this cake years ago and thought it was a little too much coffee too. I just took out some of the coffee. Also the coconut cake is to die for. Delicious.
i googled "what is plain chocolate", and the internet told me.. little tip for you there
INSANE job on that cake!!!!
Is this "Beatty's Chocolate Cake"? I literally only make this forbade chocolate cakes in my life and it's almost foolproof. Even my husband (who is very competent, but not one to bake) made a lovely one for my birthday a few years ago!
reads video description 🙂
I work at a preschool and let the kids have Christmas music dance parties all year round 😂 choosing the Christmas top hits CD over the Cbeebies bop and nursery rhymes ones every time 🤣
White Winter Hymnal is NOT a Christmas song! If you have only ever heard the Pentatonix version, please discover Fleet Foxes you're welcome.
Finally!!!!!!!
I hate it when recipes say “room temperature”…. So room temperature for London summers or arctic winters? 😂
Anyone else concerned with grace eating the buttercream with the raw egg and being pregnant 😮
I've got a chocolate cake recipe ,AND you add the coco pounder dry . Good on you for trying somthing new. Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍
Classic Grack! Now I need a Betty Crocker choccy cake mix… sigh not going to lose weight this week… 😊
As an american THEY HAVE LINERS FOR CAKE PANS THAT LOOK LIKE CUPCAKE LINERSSS
I could watch a compilation of you just cutting into cakes. Always a perfect slice 😍
