On the bread, I suspect that your butter was a bit too liquid and maybe your dough was a bit too warm. That melted your sugar. Yeast bread takes time. A cold rise on dough gives a better flavor even though it is hard to wait for. Especially in a cold house, dough can take a while. You can always start it the day before and let it rise in the fridge overnight. Then bring to room temperature and shape before the second rise.
I have been watching several of your cooking episodes while dicing salsa ingredients. It is nice to cook with you.

Here’s a tip that someone told me a while back, I buy my yeast in bulk too, she said if you keep it in the fridge it doesn’t lose any life for at least a year. It seriously works i had some in my fridge for about 2 years and it still worked very well.
It looks like you were ripping out oregano in the chive bed. Its a perennial herb
Keep that yeast in the freezer. It will last forever and you will never need to be concerned about proofing it.
Your onion powder might be clumping as you’re introducing water to the jar by having the open jar over your saucepan 😊 love your videos, have seen every one and seeing you getting excited about next years garden is getting me excited about mine after a massive failure on my allotments this year
Get you a oven thermometer for each oven. They are cheap and they might save you from burning something
Becky, next time mix the butter, sugar and cinnamon together. That way when you spread the mixture and roll it up and cut they will stay together. Good luck next time ❤
I only live at 2500 ft but it does make a bit of a difference in baking. Also you can keep your yeast in the freezer for a very long time and it will stay fresh.
32:47 I adore that you ate the bigger piece first 🤣
You might have had different results with the Nutella.
Becky you make 53 mins fly by have a wonderful week 🧡
Becky. I’m a big baker on the colder days to help you bread rise faster. Is put a bowl in the oven with boiling water in it. It will create a nice warm environment to help the bread rise. I still keep the light on also
As always, I love watching! ❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
Practice makes perfect 👍😜
You know what you can do, use some of that cheddar and make cheddar biscuits to freeze. After they bake up dip them in melted butter mixed with garlic powder . Yummy
Can you tell me what brand that wooden spatula is? Nice video, learned a lot about garlic!
U said that ur house was cool. I think that maybe ur warm water wasn’t warm enough to activate the yeast. I know that when I use a metal bowl…& one of ur bowls was metal, I always warm my water to around 120 instead of 110. & I always run hot water over the bowl before using it, because it will cool off really quickly, especially when the house is cool. Try testing the yeast with warmer water. If that doesn’t work then maybe ur yeast is just too old??
Thyme!! I put it in all cream soups! Makes all the difference
Hi, can you link where you get your square sugar, flour containers? Thanks!
What a wonderful video. Broccoli cheese soup is good… But in my opinion, beer cheese soup is better. Do you happen to have any recipes for that? I will have to go check your site. I love your channel and I get such a wonderful feeling when I watch your cooking videos and gardening videos… All of your videos! Ha ha. I’m always looking forward to your next video. I’m so excited for you and Josh and this upcoming baby event. Thank you so much for sharing what you do with us. My heart is lightened every time we get to peek into your world. ~Sharon from Florida
