My mom always made stove top growing up so it has the taste of childhood but I make mine from scratch. Thanksgiving is pretty cheap with homemade rolls, stuffing, gravy, corn, and mashed potatoes which I keep at home all the time. Just bought my 16 lb turkey. I got $0.49 lb because I wanted to get earlier and not worry about stock. It is more then I have spent in the past but probably under $10 for a meal.

Good morning. Sorry that I had to miss you last night. Something came up that I had to deal with. I hope everyone had a good time.
On gas – ours in NE Indiana went up to 4.29 for reg a week ago Friday. Down to 4.25 at some but not all stations. I expect it to stay up until after the holidays at the very least.
For a change to the cranberry sauce. Ball recipes has one for a cranberry, orange and walnut sauce. I canned it about 6 years ago. Found a jar a few weeks ago. Opened it and it is still good. I do 4 oz and 8 oz jars. They also make a great addition if doing a food basket or buy itself.
A tip on canning meats. I use the Better than Bouillon. It is great with the ham, beef or chicken for canning. They have a garlic one and a chili one I want to try. I make it a little weaker than the direction. It’s to maintain the flavor and not over power it because of the seasonings in bouillon.

Sorry I missed your live. I was with a friend that just lost her mom. Her husband is stuck in Germany so couldn't be with her. Today was the service and I didn't want her to come home to an empty house.
I've actually never eaten cranberry sauce. My parents didn't eat it growing up, but I'm curious to try it.
