Whole 30 is an elimination diet that people use to help them lose weight, isolate food allergies and improve their overall wellness.
I don't know what was so expensive. Protein, fruit, veggies, fat? I have continued on whole 30 and made it a lifestyle change. I still only eat proteins, fruit, veggies, and fats. I love being able to have potatoes and sweet potatoes. When I feel like it, I sometimes have rice or pastas made from chickpeas. I also can tolerate legumes. But no dairy, no bread, no white flour, no sugar, no alcohol. Done this for a year and have lost 140 lbs eating whole foods.
So basically you picked the wrong diet. There’s AIP. Did you try it? Sounds like you have unhealthy food habits.
Can’t have oats either my fav
Yup it’s expensive just bought groceries for it spent 254 dollars
this was very helpful
I ate keto bread
Expensive? If you clean out your pantry and replace everything with whole 30 yeah, will be.
Great review! Realistic and honest. Especially if it’s not ur normal style of eating. Doesn’t turn me away but now I know what to prepare for. Thanks!
Thinking of trying a variation of this but there is a few things I don’t agree with and a few things that they ask manly I think if you make a mistake instead of going back to day one pick your self up and keep swimming. I also eat dinner with my family who will not be eating whole 30 so dinner would just be as close to whole 30 as possible. But at this point for me its more about a better relationship with food
Thank you!
Didn’t your thyroid levels improve with giving up gluten?
I definitely feel better having given up anything with gluten. Did you check the gluten connection to your thyroid issues and your craving for pretzels (wheat gluten)?
How did you find pit you had a autoimmune disorder ?
I'm curious. Which foods were you able to reintroduce without problems?
So bizarre how obsessed these YouTubers are with food. This is what we call a "third world problem". Seems like a borderline mental illness.
You didn't explain why your grocery bill was more expensive. Should be cheaper since we aren't buying ice cream, cakes, cookies, chips, junk food, etc. And why is bacon more expensive. Can someone explain lol!
I love Aldi I'm sure that's where I'll do most of my shopping
I haven't started yet but I want to because I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. And Ive been taking natural supplements for 3 months because I was feeling irritable and emotional all of last year (not knowing about my diagnosis). Anyway, Im hoping I don't experience all of this again, Im hoping this diet will help heal my gut and thyroid, or adrenal or hormone issues…. eek… I guess I will see.
About to move and start this. I am blessed to have time to do the move so that will help. Plus I purged so much a couple years ago. But I imagine this is still going to be hell. I just feel so bad that if I don’t do something I’ll go crazy!
Thanks for the great video;). We have the same name 🤗. & similar personalities so I loved your video ❤️ I’m looking at starting whole 30 soon. I’ve looked into it years ago but didn’t do it bc it seemed so restrictive but after doing Keto off & on for years I’m used to cutting out gluten & sugar. Gluten makes me bloat & sluggish & I totally don’t feel good on it. I’ve been working to shed 100 pounds but have not been able to accomplish this yet and I’ve tried so many things. I’m doing Intermittent Fasting 16:8 right now (just trying it out a few days a week). Gotta say I really like how I feel on that, I am counting calories too. Lost a few pounds but still stuck. I checked out IG whole 30 and oh my goodness all the yummy Asian food looks delish! And the primal gourmet IG chef videos make me so hungry watching. Lol. It’s looks more exciting bc I love lots of flavor & I saw whole30 posted sauces..if homegirl can get sauces whole30 approved I’m in🤣. My biggest thing is…I haven’t looked yet but I’m guessing coffee is a no go?! I love coffee☕️ lol. Thanks again for sharing. Hope you are doing well. Just curious, Have you done whole30 again yet?
Did you read the book? It explains why you feel fatigued and not everyone gets tigers blood. I did not get tigers blood but detox is no joke. I did a Whole90 and lost 50 lbs. Whole 30 helped me kick sugar and diet coke addiction which I had for 30 years.
I’m in my 3rd week of Whole 30. I can’t believe how diff my face looks in pics from Day 1 to now. It’s shocking. Another thing I noticed is pain in my right leg from lymphedema clog I guess? Or maybe lymph is trying to break through and can’t. Don’t know. I eat a lot on this diet. Lots of fruit, nuts, and meat. I don’t know what the scale is gonna say come next week! It’s been good not to weigh in every day. I will say that this is the strictest plan I’ve ever been on in my life, and I’ve tried a lot of diets. I consider myself weight loss resistant, so if this plan works on me, I will be Whole 30’s biggest promoter! 🙂
I have Hashimotos & felt great! I think you got diagnosed & just used that as an excuse like many others.
I also have Hashimoto’s and am an emotional eater. This was my 2nd Whole30 and I am so much healthier. My hair isn’t falling out (HUGE, because for years I’ve thought I might have to buy a good wig), my skin looks better, I’ve slimmed down some, and my aches and pains are so much better. Also, my taste buds have come back; I’m retraining them to like Whole30 sauces (no sugar) and different foods. I never would have eaten a fig, but it tasted similar to a Fig Newton! I used to eat and eat sugar, and that’s all I could taste. It’s good to taste food now. That other stuff I ate (sugar or spicy chips) isn’t really food. It’s poison. Thanks for the great video!
We shopped at aldi’s and Trader Joe’s saved a lot. It didn’t cost any extra.
Doing whole30 during quarantine is so easy, is one of the few good things I’ve gotten out of this
I thought it was expensive also
So this sounds bad, but one way I saved on groceries was by skipping breakfast. I didn’t plan on this, but about a week in I got to the point where I just wasn’t hungry in the morning and didn’t want to eat anything.
My lunches were leftover dinner but put over some greens (so like if I had turkey burgers, I’d take a leftover one and crumble it up over a bed of spinach) and have it as a salad with some other veggies and homemade ranch, and an apple. If I didn’t have leftovers, I’d use canned chicken, tuna, or two boiled eggs.
And dinner was a lot of crockpot roasts, chicken, soups, or roasted veggies.
The autocaptions on this had me dying. At one point it called this the butthole thirty.
My grocery budget also doubled! Replacements for peanut butter and milk, more meat, plus the tree nuts. I was cheap to begin with, so this may not apply to everybody. I also have an auto-immune which I think made me extra tired at the beginning but then I started feeling awesome around week 2.
My mouth watered when you said the word pretzels. Day 3 of 30. Love your video and thank you!
