great recipie. we just had store bought full boat egg nog, i was horrified at the carbs and high fructose ,so my hubby had it.
The best grocery store eggnog is Southern Comfort, hands down. It comes in a black carton. Not low carb at all but if you only drink one glass a year, it's definitely worth it.

What some genius needs to do is design and make a thermometer that doubles as a whisk!
I'm lactose intolerant (LI) and had only experienced symptoms with actual MILK never to cheese, ice cream, cream or half and half or so I thought until about 6 months on keto using heavy cream in everything. Thank goodness for Lactaid, it works like a charm.
Here is my German version of eggnog:
12 jumbo egg yolks
1 whole jumbo egg
1 tbsp real vanilla seeds
2 cups sugar substitute
4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 bottle plain unflavored vodka or Jamaican rum
In a large mixing bowl, mix egg yolks, whole egg and sugar on high until doubled in volume and sugar is dissolved. Add cream and vanilla and blend thoroughly. Add vodka and stir until blended. Fill vodka bottle(s) until full. Place bottles in dark corner of cabinet for at least 2 months to let flavors meld. Do not be surprised if the egg nog shrinks in bottle as air comes out. Serve in small, cold schnapps glasses and enjoy in sips!
OK, I know it is the middle of the Summer of 2020 (Horrors!) but I love me some eggnog!! Definitely going to try this one out. It will make a great dessert before bedtime. Keep the great videos coming! Love watching you, Wes!!

I eat raw eggs everyday! There's no way you're getting sick unless you have a weak digestive system. Plus making sure you get them from pasture raise farm.

Some day I may pay the price, but I been eating runny and raw eggs for all my 55 years. I don't eat commercially produced eggs and feel more confident in that. BUT BUT BUT even if you don't fear raw eggs like me, you will probably find a more desirable texture from your nog if you do simmer it like the man says. I gotta go make some egg nog, thanks for sharing!

I basically have made the same recipe for years. If you have a Kroger or Harris Teeter you can get Carb Masters milk which is real milk but very low in carbs
