Egg yolks are mostly fat with a tiny touch of protein, It's the whites that are nearly all protien the simplest way to fake an egg yolk is to tint coconut oil ( the kind that's semi solid at room temp with safflower ( the spice) add a pich of vegi protien powder ( unflavored & unsweetened) strain out the spice. and let cool untill almost set. if you want that " break the yolk " moment you''ll have to use sodium alginate & calcium To make the skin on the yolk. together with the tofu & black salt you won't get any closer nutritionally or taste wise to a real fried egg. Don't watch TV but this was a fun video.
I’m not a fan of the show, to violent for me. Although, I am wondering, what other sauces could you use on the rice cakes. What about the sweet and sour sauce? I just don’t tolerate spice well and I just found a asian grocery store with rice cakes.
