I've already pre-ordered your cooking for one book. I'm really looking forward to getting it at release on 7/20! These are very helpful tips. I'm saving up for a medical procedure and these will really help me stretch my dollars further and still eat healthy. Thank you so much for all that you do!!
High protein is non negotiable for me lol
While you can freeze cheese, it becomes crumbly. Not a problem if you’re using in a casserole, soup or other grated cheese dish
Great recipe for homemade mayo:
-1 whole egg plus 1 egg yolk
-3/4 t dry mustard
-1/4 t paprika (smoked works)
-2T lemon juice
-1T white vinegar
-1/4 t each salt and pepper
-can use 1/4 t seasoning such as garlic powder, Mrs Dash, Tony Chacheres…add different flavors.
-16 Oz Light extra virgin olive oil
I put these ingredients in order in a wide mouth mason jar and use a stick blender to whip it completely from bottom to top. (You could use a hand mixer as well.) Keeps a couple months. If you see separation just use a spoon to stir to remix.
How is the adoption process going?
I've used a Foodsaver for 25 years. It's awesome. I also recommend getting a dehydrator. Homemade fruit rolls are great, drying herbs if you have to much in the garden or buy too much, jerky, that last bunch of grapes when the kids suddenly decide they don't like grapes, makes excellent raisins.
I have to disagree with I think it was #2. About 75% of North Americans are metabolically unhealthy, so adding more starches to their meals is not a good idea. If the meal isn't filling, adding more natural fat, or green veggies is a better option.
Great video! I have used a FoodSaver for the last 5 years & it really keeps frozen foods good for a long time.
