Thank you for your videos. My sister-in-law likes your videos too. What types of meal ideas do you have for those of us (myself included) who live in apartments? I personally live in a studio apartment. I own a slow cooker, but not an instant pot. Space is at a premium, in general. I don't have room for all of the awesome kitchen gadgets I want (insert sad emoji face here). I also eat a lot of meat and mainly veggies. I strength train. And I'm working with a trainer (he's also my nutrition coach) out of the Los Angeles area. Mainly chicken. But I do enjoy steak, salmon, and pork too. I also work Monday through Friday nights. I've found that oftentimes my slow cooker is sufficient for most things one would cook in an instant pot.

I like to use a vacuum sealer for everything we won't eat in a day or two. For freezer meals you would have to put them in the bags and freeze them before sealing. Vacuum sealing can last much longer than regular freezer bags, but I don't know how long. I've had steaks vacuum sealed over a year that tasted just fine. I was wondering about one more thing. Are you going to try to have daughter #6 so you can set up another channel called Six Daughters Stuff? Ha! May the Lord continue blessing you and yours and remember I will always love you all.

I watch your vids bc you are good. I appreciate you said “…you might be doing wrong”. I wish you used this as the title instead. The title is off putting and I almost didn’t watch because of it.

I like doing freezer meals, but don't always feel like I have the time to spend hours shopping and putting them together. We just had your Hawaiian chicken recipe yesterday that I had previously frozen and it reminded me how much I like them! I also have a difficult time finding a way to organize them in my freezer so I don't lose them in the back.

Another helpful tip: Remember to label your freezer bags before you put food in them. It doesn't work very well after the food is there. Been there, done that, learned the hard way lol

I never used to do freezer meals until this year. I love it. It’s so much easier. I like them for the school year (I’m a teacher and don’t live to close to work.). Then summer in TX is HOT so sometimes cooking (turning on the oven especially) is to hot. I never knew what to make in the crock pot until I found you all and another person I follow.
    Thank you!

I don't use freezer meals. I do keep small packages of frozen cooked meats like Rotisserie chicken or ham for quick dinners. I feel like if I have a protein I can always come up with quick sides or a salad. I don't always like my food mixed up–I grew up in the 70's and casseroles were a nightmare for me. I went through the "not wanting my food to touch" phase as a kid!

I actually do meal prep where I make 5 meals over 1 or 2 weekends and I then have enough mails for a different one each day for a month or 6 weeks, depending on the serving size for each meal.

What I do is cook the meal, dish it out into storage containers, and then let it cool, first until it is no longer steaming and then an hour or two in the fridge. I then place plastic wrap on the food, pushing it into the nooks and crannies as much as I can, and then put on the lid to the container. The point is even though it is not air tight, it is keeping as much air off the food as possible, even the air between the food and the lid. It then goes in the freezer.

I take it out the day before, and put it in the fridge, and the next day it is ready for me to take to work. I usually take out the next meal when I am getting ready for work and replace the meal in the fridge that I am going to eat that day. The only issue is remembering to take one out on Sunday…

I bought the year package and it has already paid off. Keeping shredded chicken in the freezer is so versatile for recipes, and one can load the Instant Pot to the top and have 2 gallon bags of shredde chicken to used as needed. I recommend getting the year package as I also got a PDF on shredded chicken recipe

Great tips! There's only 2 of us so for those meals I want to store longer, I use my food saver. I've had no issues with the taste or the quality beyond 3 months
