This may sound weird, but even though my mom always used an electric mixer to mash her potatoes, I never do. I don’t want to bother with getting out the beaters, so I use a handheld masher . I drain the potatoes, but leave them in the pot, add butter, salt, and pepper. Then, I just push down the masher a few times, shaking off the potatoes and repeating the process. The potatoes come out perfectly smooth.

Julia, first Happy Mother's Day!! Second all of those meals look so delicious and easy to make!! I am going to try all of them!! Which way do you like to cook your roasts, in the slow cooker, instant pot or in the oven? My daughter prefers the IP which I think I do too.

I set up the food for the recipe. Then I put it on a table on my deck, plug it in, set my crock pot for time & temperature. Dinner is ready and the house stays cool. Living in the south you don't want any extra heat in spring, summer and autumn
