Hey y’all! Hope this inspires you to do something with your Thanksgiving Leftovers! Love, Brooke #frugalliving #canning …
I purchase a spiral ham when they do on sale once a year. I cut all the meat I can off the bone. I package it in quart size freezer bags or vacuum sealer as slices and diced. I use the packages to make quiche, sandwiches, scrambled eggs, add to Mac n cheese, soup, homemade hot pockets, scallop potatoes with ham, add to green beans and so many other meals. The bone gets used to make a pot of beans which I freeze portions future meals. There is so much as you showed to do with a ham. Thanks for the video. It was another great one.
Great idea’s nothing wasted
lol
We made Cuban sandwiches with our leftover ham! Yummy!
Whoa! A cup of melted butter? That's twice what the original recipe calls for. Seems like way too much.
Lol my husband has done that with my crockpot before. 🤣🤣🤣
Can the potato soup be pressure canned?
My hubby uses the bone woth meat to make his black eyed peas. I make many ham and egg breakfast casseroles
You have so many great recipes. You are a true money saving frugal Mom and wife!! Thank you for all your hard work. God bless🙏🙏💖🤗
I made a small Temu order over the weekend per your recommendation and used your promo code.
Got the peeler and drawing pad thing you recommended and a few other things. Got 6 items for just over $8. Waiting to get the delivery and see how the stuff is. Thanks for the info!
Holy moly. Those sliders looks amazing!!!
Great economics! You go girl!
That's some beautiful bean soup 😍
😂 oh my that’s something my kids would and hubby would do. Put the whole pot in the fridge.
You can also use ham in a breakfast casserole ( save about a cup of chopped ham or sausage) makes up a nice size casserole for Christmas morning. Then all you have to do is place it covered in refrigerator for Christmas morning. It is like a savory bread pudding. Make up a package of blueberry muffins and add some fresh fruit. We even have this for dinner at times. My recipe has sandwich bread, cheddar cheese, eggs, green onions chopped, milk, S&P, ground mustard ( or a tsp of Dijon prepared mustard can be substituted), and either diced ham or cooked breakfast sausage in it. Cover and store over night in refrigerator. Uncover next morning and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. If using a glass casserole dish, start it off in a cold over. So nice to come home to on a busy night or have on a special holiday for breakfast or brunch. Great with homemade cinnamon rolls, muffins, fresh asparagus as a vegetable to go with it, and fresh fruit with a sweet dip and juice of some kind. If there happens to be leftovers you can cut it to fit inside flour tortillas add a little more cheese and roll up individually for breakfast tortillas.
There's also your 'Greens' which your ham bone can season. Your peas & lima bean dishes can use some of that Ham. Personally I would prefer 'Pinto Beans' but there's your choice of Beans to can. You can also mince that little left over ham and serve it over rice or with eggs for breakfast.
Amazing. Terrific job of processing your ham and creating so many meals. You deserve a nap. Thank you for sharing your creativity and resourcefulness.
Brooke have you ever made ham dumplings? Just make like chicken dumplings. Mom always added a couple sliced boiled eggs at the end. So good!!!
I froze leftover dressing and turkey. My turkey had been in the freezer at least 2 yrs. It was fabulous. We were ready for something different to eat. I made pizza last night, and a big pot of hamburger veggie soup tonight with jalapeno cornbread. 😋
Thank you!!! I learned something new!!! I love watching your videos!!! ❤
I love that you don't measure anything because I don't either lol very few things I measure. Another good way to use ham is mixed with Mac and cheese, or use in au gratin potatoes or fried up for breakfast with eggs, grits and biscuits.
We had ham for breakfast the next couple of days, with fried eggs. I think a potatoe soup with ham, yummy! Thanks for all your wonderful ideas!
You done super duper great!!!!! I always use my ham bone to make beans or season my greens.
Chicken tetrazzini is probably my family’s favorite meal. May have to try with leftover ham. I have to use up my leftover turkey for tetrazzini first😂. And I’m definitely making ham salad! I love it!
I would have been dissappointed if I hadn't seen ham salad on here. LOL. We do pickle relish, mayo, black pepper, and onion.
