    I use this technique every time when cooking steaks, great way to get a crust and deal the flavor. That being said, peeling the garlic first will help but after getting the crust is when you drop the heat to low and add the butter, garlic and thyme then do you won't burn the garlic or butter.

    Bone in steaks are tough to get a good crust on unless you use something weighted to hold it down. Hope it turned out great ^.^

    Nice looking steak but if u use raw garlic and crush it instead of in the clove ull get alot more gralic flavor and not waste a whole clove other then that nice steak
