Absolutely LOVED how you worked this video. Clue 🕵️ one of my all time FAVORITE movies! Between this and Ferris Bueller’s Day off, Troop Beverly Hills, I truly could go on! They way you showed different options, still kind of staying within price point, was awesome. I also, can’t tell you how much I enjoy when you say “ I added fresh garlic and some onion, If you don’t have that, don’t worry, this can still work use what you have etc”
    Another fabulous video Mindy! 🥰

    Loving these videos–great ideas!
We fed a family of 13 for years (now down to 8, but most are working and going different directions at mealtimes).
Most of our "go-to" dinners were between 10-15 dollars for everyone. And about once a week leftovers would become a soup or casserole that could never be replicated!
My deal with the kids was if we had soup or leftovers, I would make dessert. This was also a way to get more nutrition into them–whole wheat cookies, pudding (using up a bunch if milk that was about to expire because for some reason they weren't eating cold cereal that week), or pumpkin, apple, or banana cake (use mashed or pureed fruit in place of oil and water when you are making a cake mix.)

My daughter HATES green beans. So many of your recipes involve green beans – do you have any suggestions for alternatives or recipes that use other veggies like peas, corn or carrots? Thanks

Showing alternatives is such a good idea. Making substitutions and modifying recipes are such vital skills for cooking in general, but especially for budget cooking. But they are so difficult to teach or explain. Last summer I was making a recipe that called for bacon but my bacon was moldy, so I decided to use almonds instead. My friend asked how I figured out a substitution so fast and without googling, and I suddenly realized I didn’t have an explanation apart from …salty protein…? And since then I’ve been wondering how many possible substitutions are out there that I simply haven’t thought of.

Loved all the recipes you shared and I happen to have all the ingredients on hand in one form or another.
For anyone who hasn't seen or thought of it, line the bottom ove your oven with a aluminum foil (under the heating element, in electric ovens) for quick clean up 😁

I love Clue. Tim Curry <3 He's so adorable in it. But my move I don't ever get sick of is Labyrinth. I even named my youngest daughter Sarah, party after that. I love your videos and they've really inspired me to start cooking more at home. You make it so simple and don't have a zillion ingredients. Thank you for what you do! You help mom's like me that are confused by things like keeping a house and meal prep so much!

I did a test of your last plan on my Insta with some changes and other items we have to buy to see the cost difference. Having 2 kids with feeding disorders makes it difficult but these types of plans really give a good starting point.
