My Mom had a "Mom's Casserole" similar to yours but she put bacon on top (not too fatty) and when it cooked, all that deliciousness went into the casserole. Yum!

You're right, Julia is great! I love the chicken soup idea. Casseroles are great because it is a 'no think' meal from beginning to end. When you have a 'meat, potato and 2 veg' kind of meal there is all the prepping, and cook times and even what combination of items is going to make up the bite on my fork! (lol) But with a casserole everything is together and if there are variations in bites, it is totally random – out of your control, left to food fate; a nice surprise, not yet another decision I have to make. Casseroles Rule!

I love Julia! She is such a sweet young lady! With the chili casserole, I was thinking corn in it or Doritos on top would be great. Extra tomato product and cheese is a win here! Thank you for all your recipes. With these meals, I would make them as you say then put it into 2 bags. We are a family of 2 so half a recipe would work for us. These meals are so easy to make for 2 or even 1 person. Thanks again.

"Did you know?" The pre chopped Garlic that you buy in the jar does not taste so Garlicy because it is Elephant Garlic. It's a huge Garlic that tastes much weaker than the usual Garlic. What you can do to embrace this convenience, is to add a some Powdered Garlic to bump up the flavour. "Bump and Go." Also an option- Costco also sells big bags of already peeled Garlic. Just give it a smash and add it to your meal. You can always opt to just use Powdered Garlic. But, sometimes the Garlic makes the meal. Just sayin'.
