The school lunches may be free but not for all schools, just “public” schools. So christian, charter, and kindergarten only schools do not receive those benefits, here. Also due to “chain supply issues” the schools here have been running out of food by the completion of last lunch seating, which is usually the bigger kids. They end up with a peanut butter sandwich.

Loved the tips! On another note, I am stunned that peanut butter is served at your daughter’s school. In Ontario where I teach secondary English, nuts are forbidden as per allergies. How do they deal with potential issue?

There are some good ones and some I do, but most of them are not useful to me.

I do walk to Work especially in Winter, cause I can't be arsed to scrape the Ice of my car. But sometimes I do drive for example if I have an appointment, before or after work, if its raining cats and dogs, or if I'm really busy and need to get home quick.

I don't just try to be frugal I also try and be as eco friendly as possible so if I have the option between Tomatos in plastic packaging and without plastic and the price difference is not much I get those not in plastic.

I suck at being frugal, but I do my best, plants and especially Orchids are my kryptonite.

I don't have debts but I'm saving for the future, emergencys and my Car is on it's way out so I have to save for a new one *sigh*.

My kids have started eating breakfast more since they started the free meals at school. However, yes the lunches can be gross and my kids have actually taken more lunches from home the past couple years than ever. Plus the amount of food they get just isn't enough for active kids.
I have cleaned my windows and mirrors with vinegar and newspapers, at the same time. Newspapers help with streaks and we always get those free ones at least once a week.

A boomer idea for those who need them… ALWAYS ask whether they offer a senior discount, even if not advertised. Very often you'll get only 10 percent! Not much but it all adds up. Ask, ask, ask. Repair people, supermarkets, retailers…

Amy’s last name is pronounced “decision”. The Tightwad Gazette is somewhat outdated but it still teaches you principles to think outside the box to save money. I can’t even estimate the amount of money it has saved me over the years (I read it in the early 2000’s). It’s hard to think of examples because her suggestions have just become a way of life for us.
