Great shopping! Good for you that you shopped at 3 grocery stores to get the cheapest prices for feed your family. I think the meat prices were great! There are only 2 grocery stores in our town here in Washington state, Walmart & Safeway. There isn’t a Sam’s Club in our state & the closest Costco is 2 hours away.

Hey Mel, as always great grocery haul. You and I are so much alike in what we buy on a regular basis. One thing for sure our family arent going to go hungry. I buy variety like you and buy certain things over and over if I really like them. We have some of that Taco Bell guacamole ranch sauce. You said you put it on alot of things. What are some of the things you put it on? We have put it on our guacamole salad and it's not bad to dip tortilla chips in. We liked it so well I bought 5 bottles of it, cause you know how sometimes you can't get things again due to shortages or for whatever reason. Well I am stocked on it. 😆 We eat Mexican food once a week. Have you ever bought the Jose Ole frozen beef and cheese or steak and cheese burritos? They are real good and come individually packed. I can get them at the commissary for 99 cents each. I put them in the air fryer to cook them and make home made Spanish rice and guacamole salad to go along with it. Taste sooo good and makes a pretty plate presentation. Looks as good or better than if you had went to a restaurant and ate. We are hung up on eating peppered steak with white rice, egg rolls and egg drop soup. I cheat for the egg rolls and egg drop soup, it's from China Chef! My home made peppered steak is the best, and no restaurant can compare to mine. I use regular or angus top sirloin steak in mine and it's so tender. I also use red, orange, yellow and green bell peppers and a bunch of sliced up onions in mine. Then just make my roux to thicken it up. So easy and simple and so delicious! You are so right. The hamburger with more fat in it will give you such a better flavor to your hamburgers or hamburger steaks. Well more fat makes everything taste better. 😆 That is another thing we have once a week, hamburger steaks, baked potato, and asparagus. My husband says any day is a good day if you have hamburger steak. He loves hamburger steak, baked potatoes the air fryer. Brussels and asparagus is his favorite vegetables. We are so blessed and God is so good to us. We have never went without a meal. When we got married like 39 years ago we one time all we had to eat was a loaf of bread and a pack of bologna. My husband had just went into the Air Force and we were stationed in California making under 1000.00 a month. All of our family was in East TN but we never let them know how close we were to having no food. We made it though. That loaf of bread and bolonga kept us from going hungry. Times like that can teach you alot. I have never ran short on food since that time. You stock up as you can so you have something to fall back on. We have never expected hand outs and you find a way to make it and learn from it. We wasn't careless with money, we just didn't have much money for food after we paid rent and electric and gas to put in the car. I can still see us counting change to put a few dollars of gas in until payday came. Them were rough times, but God didn't let us sink. We thought we were but we have never been without something to eat. Whew all for that. Hope you have a great day and a terrific weekend. I'm up at 4 am watching your video. Love my Mel!

Hey, Momma! I'm glad to see another video. I love grocery hauls because I always get ideas. Since I live alone and don't have anyone to share my grocery hauls with, I tell Jesus all about it and go through each item I bought and then thank Him for all of the provision. I learned a tip from one of my homesteader channels – freeze your unused yeast so it stays viable a lot longer. I bought a 2-pound bag on Amazon and most of it went into the freezer in a Mason jar. I plan to do a lot more bread making as time goes on. If only I could slice a loaf evenly, I would one happy camper! 🤣 You can freeze your flour too should you want to buy extra. It will kill any insect larva should there happen to be any. (God forbid). Give it three days to completely room temperature and store it as normal.

I paid almost what you paid in groceries a couple of weeks ago 😱 but thankfully I had the money. Our main grocery store in Lancaster, PA is called Giant. I guess they throughout Pennsylvania, and such lesser stores Weis and Rutter's Farm Store. I haven't seen really any shortages except in some freezer items and certain cookies and crackers – the Keebler brand was one of them. They had plenty of Cheezits and Ritz cracker products. The cereal boxes are being labeled as family size when they aren't. My favorite cereal is Corn Chex. The prices are nuts, but the gas prices – good grief! Fortunately, I'm not working right now and don't have to go out anywhere except for the occasional errand.

May God keep you and your family safe and sound today and everyday. Psalm 91.

Closest Sams is an hour and half to the one we like but another is over two hours so I’ve been ordering online to ship. I’ve been going to wal mart, food city and sav a lot and sometimes super dollar and watching what the prices are. It’s crazy!!

My groceries have gone up so much more and it’s just me and my husband. I’m gonna try to watch you and maybe learn to cook. I do not cook very well and don’t like to. Maybe if I knew how I would like it better. I admire you for doing this. What time do you come on. We eat out a lot and that’s expensive. I’m not like Judy, she’s good at everything. Please try to tag me or however to remind me so I won’t forget, if you do that. I’ll be watching for you. Thank you Momma Mel!!

Hi Mel! Great haul. I’m a 2 week shopper too. I usually go back for milk or fresh veggies but otherwise, it’s every 2 weeks. Have you tried freezing your yeast? I keep mine in the freezer and it lasts well past the date. You don’t even need to thaw it before using. I hope you’re all having a great week. ♥️

I think you did a great job with your haul. It looks like you got quite a bit for the amount of money you paid. I told my family that we are reining it in on groceries. Bringing back a budget and not eating out except once/week. Ugh!! Have a rest of your week, my friend!
