your soups look delicious!!! A good tip when adding barley to your soup is to cook it seperately, then add it to your soup and cook it normally! It will avoid whitening your broth as much that way.

Try Portuguese linguica in your kale soup next time. It's a traditional Portuguese soup. It's the same as your kale soup but without the rosemary and time. Just kale (the basic type), onion, garlic, potatoes, white beans, broth, and linguica cut into rounds. Serve it with French bread.

Can't wait to try your soups.

Farmers soup like my grandma from Skรฅne did it. It usually potatoes, carrot, celeriac but other root vegetables can be added. The broth was made with whole carrots and onions boiled with bony parts of the beef. Its seasoned with salt and white pepper, that's used a lot in swedish receipes. When you serve the soup, the meaty bones are served on a little plate with skรฅnsk mustard. Women in sweden worked even in the past, so we have many reciepes with this base. Boil whole/big chunks of meat with whole onions and carrots. You add more whole onions and carrots at the end, to be served as veggies. Often the broth is used to make a sauce. Examples. Horseradish sauce with beef, dill, caster sugar and acetum with veal, mild curry with hen or chicken.

Hi Dzung! I noticed in your video you add parsley and thyme in the beef and barley soup, but in your recipe below it only calls for rosemary and bay leaf… which herb combo is best? Thank you!

I love barley stew. It's not much in it but it tastes great. You use onion, celery stalks, carrots, potatoes, barley, vegetable stock and I use a german meat for it. It's called "(chicken-)Kasseler". For seasoning i just put in bay leaves and salt. Try it yourself! I didn't give you exact amounts because you should use everything as much as you want. I love when there's more veggies than meat and barley. I hope you try it ๐Ÿ™‚
