I made the chicken in mushroom gravy in my new IP. It was the 3rd recipe I tried in it. I would suggest adding a little water (and I added a little wine) to the soup mix and whisk it in before adding the veggies and chicken – not because I feel the need to meddle with your recipe, but because when I made it the way you show in the video, my IP kept stopping after trying to come up to pressure and would display a "burn" error message. After the first time I thought 'maybe it needs a little more liquid' so I added a little water and wine. But then it did it again, so I researched online and the error "burn" means the bottom of the pot is getting too hot. So then I took everything out and stirred it really well (and some of it WAS sticking pretty badly to the bottom). Then put all back. Then it worked. Now in all fairness, I used a package of 7 skinless chicken thighs because (A) trying to cut down on fat, and (B) I like dark meat better than white. But using pieces from the whole chicken with skin on may cause more fat to drip through all that soup mix at the bottom to keep it from sticking (though I have my doubts). Anyway, it was delicious!! One of the best chicken dishes I've had – ate it all week off & on and never got tired of it. Oh, I used Portobello mushrooms – just a preference of mine – don't think that would affect the moisture content any vs regular mushrooms. Highly recommend this recipe – hope this is helpful to anyone who tries it!

Simple but effective. My mom bought me a pressure cooker for my birthday a few days ago and I had zero idea how to use it, but you've given me a few ideas. I'm thinking that "Smothered Chicken" recipe will be the first thing I ever try to cook. Thanks for the vid!
