    My grandma told me that when she lived on the farm when she was younger (in the 40s), they'd boil the meat to make it tender, then fry it to make it appetizing. She doesn't really fry food now, but if she did, I doubt she'd tell me! This is the same woman who told my mom (her biological daughter), she couldn't tell her how to make eggplant parmesan because it was a family secret! My mom was so mad. We're not even Italian, and she got the recipe from one of her clients when she worked as a home health aide. 😂 This is also the same woman that says she doesn't tell me her recipes because I don't like to cook. She's not wrong, but being that I write everything she says down when she's talking about her family and life, you'd think she'd be a lot more forthcoming!

    My grandma's stuffed cabbage rolls were awesome with mashed potatoes and cabbage gravy from the rolls! I watched and learned how to make when I was 5 years old. Grandma was Slovak! I still cook to this day! My wife doesn't cook so she's got it made! That's what she thinks! She has to clean the mess! LOL

    Yummy! And girl..there is no canned bean I have found that even barely compares to cooked dry beas with delicious seasonings👍🏻i dont know why anyone would chastise you for "cooking" on your cooking vlog…😂😂😂… I say again… As I do with all your recipes and meals… It all looks delicious! ♥️

    I can never understand why cooks spend so long cooking dry kidney beans (2 hours) when a can of kidney beans takes 3 seconds to open? Baffles me. Can you start cooking some cakes please? Love ya!! x

    Camirra this meal has my stomach growling! It looks so good! I love your menus. Thank you 💗 My mom was from the south. She made the best fried chicken! All she did was dredge the chicken in flour seasoned with salt and pepper, frying it in crisco. Sounds simple but mine never has turned out like hers! I think her being a southern woman was the secret!

    Brining is the way to go! In my opinion, it’s the best method of seasoning as it carries the flavor to the bone. I use this method when preparing turkey, but also when I’m smoking meats. 👍🏿

    Hands down the best fried chicken (and okra) I've ever had was at a hole in the wall in Farmersville, LA called Classic Southern Fried Chicken. If I'm going to New Orleans from Seattle? Best believe I'm making a 4-5 hour drive to Farmerville JUST for the chicken. It's crack. I'm going to try this though. Looks bomb.
